Dan6061
I know this'd be a pain in the arse to do, but in Classifieds, could the For Sale, and Wanted sections then be split into Mod, Stock, 24", other?

Not only could you keep splitting all the way down to bolts, washers and nuts and have dozens of subforums. But some things like maguras will fit into all 3 catagories. It'd make it much more confusing to use.
Dan6061
Didn't think of that...I was just looking for a new stem, and thought 'This'd be so much easier if Mod bits were seperate'
python_man
new idea from me from being a member of various other forums i noticed a feature on another forum that is quite helpful when you hover over a topic a few lines of the topic show up. like the 1st four lines i cant remember what this option is called but i found it helpful when topic descriptions are not very clear. nick
Muel
Definitely think this should be sticky. My idea is to ban your ip address as i was reading the B.E.U topic and people saying not to ban him, just to blacklist him so he cant create a new account and become un-blacklisted, but if someones done a banable offense is it possible to ban the ip address of the computer? In theory, but unfortunately it can't be done because your computer can change IP adresses, and also someone else in the family might use the same computer and not be a twat. Billy
Perhaps a Photography section in Chit-Chat, rather than just a thread? But have rules, that you're only allowed to post a thread if you hav a set of images, rather than just one, and have a stickied thread just for random single images? That way, more people see more people's photos, and can give/receive better critiques.
Simon
Think we should make a rule, no more sub sections. If photography gets a sub section, car people will want one, as will lost people, and mini people, and heroes people, and drug users, and happy people, angry people. The list goes on. Subsections are a bad idea, as is more sections. For anyone who goes on the Trials Central website; I read it fairly often but Andy has added so many catagories it makes it difficult to read - although I supose motorsport is much more varied than bike trials. Billy
That's fair enough I just figured that the Photography thread is the most popular thread, posibly on the whole forum? With nearly 500 pages. It might've been a good idea for it to have it's own section.
JDâ„¢
ooooooo oooooo! I have one! Hows about a sticky topic with a list of all the other really handy forums so people stop expecting expert advice on every subject in the world from trials riders? I know I'm guilty of this, but to be fair, if there was a list of other forums I'd probably make more of an effort to use them.
anzo
Aye, but most of the forum suggested by Simon are the most popular threads on the board; they've been on the front page of chit chat for some years now, and I don't think it'll ever go away (unless someone posts something dodgy). On that note: FatPants is the most happy and angry member of Trials Forum....Puberty, eh? Edited June 3, 2008 by anzo
adamtrials
A photography subforum would be good though as the topic is already like a mini forum, just incredibly unorganised due to being in one big topic. There's a lot of great information in there, it's just really hard to find. It would mean much less repetition of the simple questions too. Yes there are some other big topics but none of them really need a subforum, car questions are generally quite specific "What do I need to put a turbo on my Scirroco" etc, these can be answered quickly in the thread and are unlikely to be of much use to other users or need no comment other than "Nice car". With photography however most of the questions are reccuring "What kit do I need for a remote flash setup" "Is the 50mm 1.8 a good lens" etc and a clear structured layout would be beneficial for new users, as they can find basic information quickly, and experienced users, so they don't have to read the same question 10 times over. I say yes to the photography subforum... Edited June 3, 2008 by adamtrials
531joshua
This is off topic slightly in that it isn't really an idea but who else would like to see a new skin available in the skin selector option? I personally don't like this skin that much and feel it would be more personal to users if they had a choice between skins. I know skins can cost money but Tom and Danny are rich from the banner ads so they'd have no problem with forking out for a couple of new skins. So... what do people think? adamtrials
Tom and Danny are rich from the banner ads Even if that was true I believe they make them themselves with help from some forum users, and there's a whole world of hurt with bugs etc. The bmx forum skin is really cool though, would like to be able to choose that one. anzo
A small subforum for complaints regarding Classifields...At the minute on Chit Chat there are about 5 topics that get bumped everyday...rather annoying. I know people may have been ripped off; but quite frankly 90% of the forum couldn't give a toss.
