How gash is that? Firstly Windows is poop, Internet Explorer is poop, WMP is poop. An they don't say anything about using Linux.

edit: so I've got to install Windows XP virtually on my laptop, an then I'll be able to play it an if I wanted to rip the program onto Linux. What is the point in all this DRM shit, it doesnt' actually stop people sharing Digitally Protected stuff, it just makes it more inconvenient.

It was a really interesting programme. Although it explains that the people who are making the fake goods, are the workers which were not good enough for the likes of Nike or other well known brand names...so its thanks to this fake trade that they have jobs and can have money to eat.

Fair enough, the conditions are terrible and the work hours and pay are appauling, but they put up with this because they HAVE to. Although I'd bet a fair about the working conditions at Nike are no better than the faker factories.

One bit on the programme that made me laugh was the 'Bazaar' magazine conference; a woman sounding very pleased with herself because she'd set up a fake prevention website...and then introduced on stage the head of the fake goods (customs control) and his first sentence was 'Sure, we can make websites...but none of this works'.

Well done.

I can't understand why they'd put DRM on a program thats free to view on the TV an free to view on Windows? If they just said 'yeah sure, you can play it on Mac, Linux or anything you want.' Then they wouldn't be losing anything surely?

They also show programs from The Discovery Channel and National Geographic, which cost 99p per view. That is where the DRM is primarily used, it's probably just easier for them to stick it on all their programs.

What the flock!

I watched the second episode last night, couldn't believe it when the yank was searching for fake watches and pulled out an address which was about a 2 minute drive away from me....rather funny watching him trying to say 'ilkeston' and 'Derbyshire' in such a strong american accent.

With laryngitis too hehe

Worth watching just for that. Pretty much everything is copied in the factories, the generators my dad designs end up appearing on the market at half price, badly made and dangerous to the user. The companies don't say anything as they are worried about losing the workforce.
