Hows that try-all booster keepign the rear end in check? My DOB is flexy as f**k with no booster, whacked an Adamant one on which is alot better...

I have no means of weighing my one, feels pretty light though?

its not doing a fantastic job to be honest with you, it did help but i think this frame needs a 4 bolt booster which i can't afford, though i might just get used to it and see how it goes.

yer well it was convenient as our work had the scale and i thought f**k it might as well see the difference.

does feel a lot flexier (the bike in general) and flickable. just needs a proper ride on it!

how are you finding yours?

I've got one of those exact frames sitting 1 foot away from me...haha I love mine. I'm aiming for sub 20 on mine. :) I'll post mine up in a few weeks when it's done :) Mine has black DOB rims front and rear though...GU cranks, Meta headset...I plan on getting a big betty for the rear, and something less than 500 grams for the front :)

By the way, what gear ratio did you put on that thing?

GU crank wrong choice, try something lighter ;)

but big better on the rear will shave a lot of weight off.

im running 18-15

Fair play, basically I've built this up as a second bike. Still have my Czar as my main bike.

A quick spec list:

08' Frame

DOB rims front on hope XC

DOB rims rear on Echo Mod hub w/Meta sprocket and Echo snail cams

Try-all '07 cranks and bash (new, lighter try-all bash on the way)

Monty freewheel

Shadow interlock chain

Old Maxxis 2.35 single ply front tyre

Continental vertical 2.3 rear tyre

Standard tubes

Ashton forks

FSA Orbit MX headset (lighter than a King)

Zoo bars and Echo stem

Front magura w/Plaz CRMS - Soon to be replaced with XTR V brake

Rear Magura with Heatsink CNC red pads and Adamant booster

VP pedals

Gigapipe BB

I found it to be really light compared to the Czar, much better on natural stuff where you just wheelswap everything. A pretty fun bike really.

However didn't feel overly confident on streety stuff.

This was only my first ride and its set up VERY differently to my Czar. And the back brake didn't work too well (no booster at the time and dead grind)

Meh, it's not that huge of a difference. I got these dirt cheap too, and I don't trust Try-all cranks. lol I figure I'll save more weigh with my other parts anyway, and I'm really hard on cranks...lol

Pics of mine:

Here.

You should measure your geo on that bike, looks quite different that the approx geo from DOB.

agreed. definately a completely different animal compared to the mainstream echo/zoo/adamant etc...

should really try out some natty on it!

what are you doing with the Aorta frame? Its a stunner!

don't know as yet i may sell it, may keep it as spares..

dude that is nice, i love the look of frames when they ain't built up! wish i taken a few pics before i built it up now..

fair play on the cranks mate, i guess its the same as me with preferences like tyres/pedals

geo is 1070, 72, 380, +35.

wheelbase and chain stay obviously varies due to chain tension and horizontal dropout!
