yeah, but we pedal fast for like a few seconds and then stop, whereas he would've been pedalling (less) fast and not stopped

i would've loled if he said FLAME ON! when he realised

(in polish) *sniff, sniff* something's burning... *looks at crotch first for some reason* cool! FLAME ON!!!... shit, that hurts...

err.... NO MATE. ^_^

ahem

Lol at (with?) Dr. Nick... no change there then! He's 55 years old though... my bet is that someone threw a lit cigarette at him as he rode past and the lycra set light... Pretty certain it would be completely impossible to set alight to yourself by cycling. Maybe that's one for brainiacs though.

The friction from riding an XC bike to work wore holes in my trousers :P

Rub your hands together fast and that gets bloody hot. Is it really impossible to imagine?

There's a difference between friction creating enough heat to cause a material to combust and just 'wearing' a hole in clothes. There weren't scorch marks round the holes were there?!

Yeah, but I've never seen Fatty Mears start a fire using only chinese burns and kindling... ;)

Brilliant :D. I think Mythbusters proved that even being dragged along at something like 30+ mph wasn't enough to set trousers on fire. Although if he was wearing trousers covered in some highly combustible material that might do the job, he may well have just been swimming in some fuel with his clothes on.
