NileBrown™
basically, I want to look inside it and have a poke about and do the usual...clean it out, put new lube/grease in it and may give the spring a bit of a stretch. But the problem is, err how do I do that? Its a king classic if thats any help? Could anyone point me in the direction, oh and ive done a bit of googleing and found you mite need a king tool, but they seem to be a bit pricey... cheaper option? Tomm
You don't need the King hub tool to just clean it and lube it. Do the first bit to get the axle out and take the driveshell off as per the video. From there you should be able to see the drive rings still inside the hub shell. If you poke your finger in, you can pull the rings apart - they're spring-loaded. That's in the video at 2:40. Clean these out using WD 40 or something and then add a bit of lube (I think Adam recommends Finish Line Wet XC Lube) to the drive rings. On the video from about 1:40, there's a bit about cleaning the driveshell, which you can also do without the tool. That should be all you need to do, unless you're replacing the bearings.
