Typhoon_Rider
well as im very silly you see i bought a new maggie lever yesterdayand i went to take the original lever off and as i did so a spring poppedout along with a rubber like tube. haha as i panic i put the tube in then thespring but i think this was very wrong as now the lever feels stiff and i cant remove the rubber bit =Spm me pleaseHELP PLEASE
trials_pimp
That Tube is the Master Cylinder Piston. It should go in with the hollow end facing out, and the end with a point inside, going in the lever body.Ive found the best way to remove them is to take the lever off the bars, take the hose and bleed screw out and use a 1mm alley key, or something as small, to poke through one of the holes to push the piston out.You may want to clean and lubricate it before sticking it back in

Radfax
out of curiosity... You say about poking the master cylinder out via the bleed screw. i am guessing that this would be diffrent on a 06 magura? anybody have any idea how to do it on one of them? Just out of intrest
Typhoon_Rider
thanks very much but as the last person said i have an 06 lever and there is no hole at bottom =[[so there is no way for me to poke it back through *cries* haha
trials_pimp
Ah a new lever.I havent taken one apart before, and dont want to take mine apart, just incase.Have a go at sticking a bleed syringe on the brake caliper, removing the lever and putting pressure on the syringe, to see if it will pop the cylinder out. Becarefull no to loose bits, maybe hang a rag over it to stop things flying away.

cai
You say about poking the master cylinder out via the bleed screw. i am guessing that this would be diffrent on a 06 magura? anybody have any idea how to do it on one of them?I also need to no this, as the spring compressed (needs streching) and will not push the piston back up, any ideas anyone?EDIT: Basher how do you plyer the hollow side of the piston? and by 'compresser' do you mean with a pump (like how the wiki says to fix lazy pistons) or do you mean something else? Gavyn.
you don't need a compressor take the lever off give the barrel which the piston goes into a quick squirt of wd40 cover the hole for the hose with your thumb and use a sringe full of water to push the seal out
