STC
Any chance you could tell us what you actually done step-by-step?cba to lol i will take ages!well I'll tel you loli took the allen key bolt out of my leave and out the bleed kit in... and i took the bolt off my caliper and put the other bit of the bleed kit in and put the oil into the hose untill it came out the other side with air diry crap that untill i saw the cleen oill.... with no air... so i put the bolt back into the leaver and put a tiny bit more into the brake and then sealed the calaper up! and that is it to be honest... Ben John-Hynes
for an immense bleed*take the brake off the bike*take the bolt out of the lever*put the whole brake in a sink/bath/bucket of water*pump the lever until no air is coming out of the lever*then take the bolt out of the cylinder(keeping the brake underwater)*attatch the syringe to the cylinder*push the water from the syringe through*take the syringe out and put the bolts back in, under water!BEST WATER BLEEDS EVER!Ben
cam217
was you bleeding a hs33 or a disc brake? beacuse you may have got some oil on your rotor/disc or pads witch then contaminates them and the brakes does not hold. Tomm
You're supposed to wind the TPA completely out (off) before you bleed. It's not really a massive problem though in my experience, but your TPA won't work properly unless you rebleed it. Also don't try and back the TPA off now, otherwise you'll get negative pressure in the system which you don't really want. But yeah, bath bleeds are great! erm..? stick hole bike in bath swimming pool
mintsauce96
I found i would have a similar problem when it came to bleeding my maggie for the first few times. How i got round this was by lying the bike on the floor after I had bled the brake with the brake lever closest to the floor, take out the grub screw and fill up with water / oil using a small syringe and tapping the lever to get more bubbles out. You can even squeeze the lever VERY slowly to bring the water / oil up to the surface then gently let it out while putting your water / oil in as this removes issues with surface tension not letting the liquid into the lever. If this does not help put your syringe on the piston as usual but don't take the grub screw out the lever and press real hard a few times , you will see your pads come out and you might even see the lever piston move out to contact the lever blade. (best to unwind your tpa first!) You will also see lots of tiny bubbles coming into your syringe. make sure you don't push these bubbles back into your system! This should sort it a treat Hope this helps, Kev. Edited February 28, 2008 by mintsauce96

Tomm
yeah water bleeds are mint as my TPA wheel does not work is it best to buy a new leaver or buy a new TPA or just take it off bike brake lol not sure on what to do yet...?Oh, sorry. I thought you meant your TPA was broken since the bleed. If it's been broken all the time then don't worry about it. Like I said, the only way you can cause a problem is if you bleed it with the TPA in and then wind it out causing negative pressure (though I don't really know if this is even a problem in reality). But if you're worried about it, yeah you can just take the lever blade off and bleed it.
