eskimo
I'm looking into another frame already as i can't seem to find a decent bike to manual. I like my normal trials moves and won't be giving that geo away for a 24" style bike though. I haven't found a bike as good as the Toxsin One yet and due to the small amount of them about i really don't think i'm going to get a hold of one again. I've tried numerous stems and a few frames but nothing that actually likes to hop in and out of manuals without using the pedals.I can manual most bikes well but my Bionic, A1 Long & Holroyd don't really cut it. Input anybody?I was thinking of a Echo Hifi, yeah maybe the last frame to choose for this but the short go i did have on one i was impressed. Well not impressed, but suprised by that short rear end. Rob Thomson
Orange Zero, with a rear hop mono trial Mr. Travis knows what I'm on about!I'd say that once you're used enough to a frame you could manage it quite easily...I could manual my Adamant A1 just as well as my zero...But something a bit shorter always helps I feel. tomturd
Used to be able to manual for miles (well, maybe not miles... lots of hundreds of meters though) on my old totally unsuitable for trials dual slalom frame. Can't manual for shit on my base.
basher
Longish chainstays, low bb shortish wheelbase and not a long reach (bb to heatube lenght).

basher
Ashton?I can't manual Ashtons have a huge reach i think which should make it hard to pull the front up, but as far as ino there still pritty good.
Matt24.
I think for most people Riser bars are a must an depends on your height aswell, if your vetically challenged like myself something very short like an older revell etc (for sale ) would be better but some of the guys on longer bikes if can get enough leverage to pull up you could manual a longer bike. Luke Rainbird
I've seen an Ashton manualled for a fair distance rather recently Try and find something a bit shorter with longer stays dude, though you probably know that already.1080ish with 380 rear end should let you bust a groove whilst still keeping some of the trialsy trials ability
eskimo
The thing being i don't have a problem with the initial manual and balance. I just want something that can jump out of and jump into manuals without having to dislocate my shoulders. The Bionic is 380mm on the chain stays and it really likes to take it's time to get into balance. My A1 was shorter on the rear end yet was longer overall, which helped alot. I might measure up the A1 and being a mod-stock slam the wheel which should create a shorter back end even more. So what is the geo on the Pure 04 then? That's the one Rowan used to ride isn't it? They also have a seat post
NVWOCI WVS
So what is the geo on the Pure 04 then? That's the one Rowan used to ride isn't it? They also have a seat post thats what i used to ride too... The wheel base on mine was 1065 with pash forks and 10mm BB rise, i think the rear end was about 375 but I can't remember Theyre actually the nicest frames ever! they hop so well and you can hop to manual without any problem!Edit: I used to use upright Monty bars so it felt more like my BMX Edited February 25, 2008 by samdoman
basher
bionic has a bb of 30 i think so that won't help. you want something 10/20 and 380/385 chainstays. It should still be nice then for everything. The reach will affect though how long a bike feels so a long reach can make a short bike feel longer and it then makes the fornt end hard to pull up.bar and stem set up makes a big difference. Rusevelt
If you cant manual your Bionic or Holyrod, then your technique is at fault or isnt dialled. Adamant A1/long is harder to master unless you use riser bars and stem with 20 degree rise (length 120-130mm). if you cant tuck your butt low over the backwheel, then try having your lead foot positioned at 12oclock and your back foot at 6oclock. your back foot position is your main counterbalance before other techniques come into play (ie; feathering back brakes, hips, knees, and leg pumps). just generally make more practice. eskimo
What about the toxsin 2?No, no and no It's just not much different from other frames that i rode.If you cant manual your Bionic or Holyrod,I can, i justwant something that can jump out of and jump into manuals without having to dislocate my shoulders you didn't read the whole thread did you. steve@banbury-trials
1080ish with 380 rear end should let you bust a groove whilst still keeping some of the trialsy trials ability sound like a simtra st1
Mark W
Sounds purely like a setup issue, more than a frame? Or technique, I guess. I hardly use my shoulders when I'm hopping into or out of manuals, it's all leg/lower body for me?But to counter that, I could manual my T-Master proto OK, and could bunnyhop it OK and hop 3 it, but I could do that on my T-Pro too. It's just a case of tweaking your setup really, or maybe just altering some of the components to make it easier. I'd point at the bar and stem... Brian Bleech
You manual anything really, but generally something tht isn't a complete barge, with a lowish bb and riser bars that ain't stupidly low.I would go for a Ashton Justice or a Czar Freetrials for 26"! It is still possible to do trialsy stuff on a 24" so don't rule them out.

craigjames
ive found my bionic pretty dman hard to get up intoa manual/bunny hop at all. need a higher stem to counter act the bb rise i think. from a pedal hop or drop its fine, its just gettin the damn front end up in the first place! Jason222
Echo Control short is good. I've got one and can manual it for miles. My brother has a Toxsin One, and I don't know how in god's name you could manual that thing. Anything with a short wheelbase is pretty good
El Cristoff
Try a higher stem?
