Jolfa
Easier said than done, but chin up I got arrested the other week for LOOKING at a broken window (note, window was already broken) on a dumped car, and dragged out of my house at 2am by 2 uniformed police, arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, fingerprints, DNA all that bollocks, gay as f*ck but what can you do..?In the last couple of months - I've had £1000's worth of stuff robbed out of my car, someone tried to steal my 2nd car, mates in hospital with schitzophrenia, engine fell out of my car at 135mph, and as for womenWhen it all boils down you're gonna find in the end, a bitch is a bitch but a dog is a mans best friend. So what you found a hoe that you like, but you cant make a hoe a housewifeAnd people being arsey about you taking a while to post stuff you sold them... So? (sorry to folks who've had to wait a while but it's not the end of the world!)Next time if you biff and old man, keep going forward and back until you're certain he's dead, then make a run for it
Krisboats
Unlucky mate, i really feel for you. If you have witnesses though and everythings been taken as a statement i can't see why they'd be keeping you effectively under arrest. how fast where you going though to break his leg and fracture his skull? Is your previous driving mis-demeanor with your ex-girlriends car any part in the harsh punishments of this accident?
Greetings
Sorry to hear that man, hope things go better for you soon. Just try and keep your mind off it, don't sit at home all day because that will just make maters worse. Socializing is the best thing you can do at the moment. Have you kept your job or did they sack you?

future orange 660
i very much doubt an old man would 'run' in front of any car.
Muel
shouldn't your reversing light be lighting up anything you need to see at a normal snails reversing speed?i very much doubt an old man would 'run' in front of any car.Hey guys, f**k off!He never mentioned reversing at a normal snails pace, he just said he reversed down a road. He could have only been doing 15mph.You know full well that in this context, when he says he ran out, he means that he didn't hear or see a car reversing down the street and stepped out from behind a parked car faster than Beau could have stopped, even if he had seen him, which is hard in the dark, let alone with a broken street lamp, under a tree.Beau, I'm sorry man, let us know how it all pans out. Have you got somewhere to stay now?
basher
How can they charge you when you have witnesses saying it wasnt your fault you couldnt of seen him? well im sorry to hear about how things are. have you been kicked out permanantly of your house?in reply to future..... he may not of run but if he comes out from behind a car where it isnt lit it would be very hard to see him. future orange 660
how about no.here is one guy who thinks he's in the sh1t because he may be prosecuted.think how the bloke is in the sh1t too..i feel more for the bloke.
BONGO
yeah that's harsh mate. But how did they suppose they can impose a curfew on you, ban you from driving and make you report to the police station 3 times a week 'over the counter'. These all involve courts. If you have a curfew, presumably you have a tracker thing on you??If you're driving a car though, forwards or backwards, you need to know where you are telling it to go, so with an unlit street light, at night, under a tree, you 'should' have stopped until you were sure there wasn't a man there. It's easy to say you were right or wrong when you use the laws to decide, because they're clear cut and there are no buts. Unfortunately, it's how the police and prosecutors do too. If it's too foggy to see and you hit something, you can't use the fog to get out of it. You should have stopped until you could see, or gone so slow that you could avoid anything once it appeared...Sorry you feel down mate, things always work out. It's a temporary shit bit in a long life...

Dani.
Hmm, I'm sorry you're having such a shit time at the moment but in all fairness this is bullshit, if you were reversing fast enough to "smash up your boot and back window" and break the man's leg and fracture his skull, you must have been going at an unreasonable pace considering it was so dark. Anyway, I know how difficult it is to always drive as the law would want you to but as the saying goes: shit happens.

PaRtZ
unlucky man. If you knew this was happening then youd know you would have reversed alot slower shouting "Any old men out there, stay on the pavement" but no ones a pyschic so that just sucks

Anyway, I know how difficult it is to always drive as the law would want you to but as the saying goes: shit happens.I agree that the blokes life is more important, and Beau was probably going to fast if he was reversing. Maybe he was pissed off and going to fast, we all do it. Well I don't any more, but I did when I had my Scott and nearly took some pillock out who walked across the road without looking, she was shouting I was going to fast, I was going at the same speed of the cars. But that didn't matter. It didn't matter that if i had hit her, I would have come off worst, as one of my mates Dad's did, he died and the pedestrian walked away.Stop trying to land all the blame on Beau. If he had been going slower it would probably have been fine, but he wasn't. The old man could have been walking across a road with his eyes and ears open, but he wasn't. It was just terrible timing and couldn't have happened at a worse time for Beau.At least the old guy isn't dead.

BONGO
unlucky man. If you knew this was happening then youd know you would have reversed alot slower shouting "Any old men out there, stay on the pavement" but no ones a pyschic so that just sucks If you can't see where you are reversing though, you should do something to the same effect anyway, you don't need the benefit of hindsight to know you shouldn't aim your car somewhere that you can't see is clear, or if you are, at least drive slow enough to stop if an old man walks in the way. Forwards, mehh, someone could walk out on a 40 road yeah then it's unavoidable, but reversing from a house, two houses back, it's easy enough to go real slow when your mirrors are showing black darkness.I'm not picking on things cos it's you, we've always got on.I'm ignoring who posted this so i can just type what i actually think instead of changing what i type to fit my relationship with whoever posted it. It's fair, but you might not think so. Maybe wrong, but fair lol.
MadManMike
To be fair we don't really know what happened. We have Beau's version of events and that's all.We weren't there so you can't really judge him or the old man.
BONGO
he did post it on a forum though, so presumably expect a response. As long as our responses are fair, we can only go off what he's said. Some will just show sympathy, some will not care, some will try to help and some wil dispute parts of it. It's how it is on a forum. As long as you say what you actually think, it promotes discussion and gets the truth, what's right, and what's happened.
