Im usually totally against topics like this and abuse the people, when topics like which frame should i get some up ect.

Anyway just before christmas i dent have a stock frame untill christmas day so i decided to get all the bits in me garage and buy a few and builf my old cracked tpro up. Then when it came christmas it went back to stock as i cracked the tpro again and thats what i ride normally. But lately i been thinking whether to go mod again or not but i just carnt decide. When i stock im alot more competitive as i can go bigger on it. But when i ride mod i find it alot more fun doing bunnyhops ect and i supose after time i could go as big. I just dont no which to pick whether to go with mod as its more fun but cant go as big as will proberly find that anoying when riding with mates, or go with stock which i dont find as fun as im more competitive on it. Ill be keeping both bikes and ride the one i dont pick round near m house every so often.

So i thought id put it to you lot

I'd say both, develop your skills on both bikes and eventually see which direction you want to go in.

Or 24"? :P

He asked "which should I ride", you have just suggested all 3 sized trials bikes. I dont think that will help him very much.

I would say you have to go for what ever type of bike you feel most at home on, which I would suggest is a 20".

every one is going to arge this forever and a day!

I started out riding stock, struggled so bad! Got on a mates mod and was so much better!

about 2 years down the line i got another stock, thinking/hoping i would ride better but not at all, i was probably worse if anything!

MOD MOD MOD!

Have both and ride whichever for whichever mood :S.

Matx

that was my thought at first but i won't progress getting better that way changeing all time and also i need to have a bike that i ride more often and compete on.

Proberly wasnt the best topic this as people who ride stock will say stock and people that say mod will say mod. O well.

as i see it, mods are more for bigginers, there are alot of top mod riders out there and i really respect them and they could no doubt kill me at riding, but i think mods are more to learn the basics on and stuff. Then when the mod skills are dialed, buy a stock and ride that. Im not just saying this cause i ride a stock, im saying it just cause its my opinion, so im sorry if anyone was offended. So really all that means is it's your choice i guess.

Stock - Simple reason when I rode mod there wasn't much I could do in it. Back wheeling / tapping was almost impossible. Never tried Hooks. Side hopping and up-to-front, side hops, and gapping were all pretty easy., bunny hops are hard

Long Stock - easier to tap, when your techniques dialed. back wheeling is good as long as you have a good technique . easy go gap. hard to bunnyhop

Short stock - easier to tap than a long stock. back wheeling easier too bunny hops are easier. wheel swaps/Bat mans are easy.

At the end of the day its person performances, I have tried everything apart from 24" which I'm temped to. See how much money I get for my 18th!

What if you are really small and can only ride mod ?

Get a small stock.

grow?

lol

One of the most retarded thing's I've ever read on here.

Makes static moves and bunnyhops extremley easy, I dunno if its just me but if I did say a gap on a mod further than I'd ever done on stock, I wouldn't get the same sense of acheivement as I would have if i did it on stock.
