JonMack
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=370478I dunno what WM6.0 build you're running but I'd definitely advise going to 6.1, I put on the MARY build on XDA and my phone feels so much nicer,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369917I put on the Lite version but there is also a SuperLite. The only things I had to install were the HTC Touch Keypad, which can be found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533, Orange MMS Settings, which I found with a search but can give you the CAB for if you want, and a bluetooth fix, which I can also give you the CAB for. But my phone is going back to Orange to fix the hardware buttons (I hope) so I'm flashing back to the default firmware first Jon have you tried the touchpal input? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336121 It's kinda like the HTC keyboard but a bit better IMO. It was free if you downloaded before Dec 7th but I have the ca if you want to try it?

My vibrate also stopped working because a screw had come loose and lodged itself in the motor so i had to take it apart to sort that out. My warrantly is officially void haha.Yeah i've tried that before, I couldn't get used to it, so I just stuck to T9 input.I agree with you on the lack of feedback on a touchscreen though, it's the most annoying thing ever. My warrantly is officially void haha.lol, they're the exact same two things that's happened to mine, but I was hoping it would be fixed on warranty. I could probably take it apart and fix it myself I suppose. The green button doesn't work at all, and the ones above and below it have to be pressed really hard to register. How exactly did you fix yours?
JonMack
Took the battery cover off, take the sim card, stylus and battery out, undo the 5 T6 screws and gently pull the grey back off (it takes some work, but it can be done, mine comes off piece of piss now.You then have to undo two screws at the top of the board, and one at the bottom with a #0 screwdriver, and unplug the two ribbon cables on the right hand side (there is a guide to disassembling it online somewhere around, maybe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358205)Then yeah, you can pull the motherboard out, then undo the two screws on the back of the buttons and you can then take them off. It's kinda hard to remember what to do off the top of my head, but that sounds about right. The vibrate motor is at the top next to the speaker, you'll notice a screw lodged in there probably, which youll have to free by wiggling the screwdriver under it.It was easier for me to fix mine myself than to send it to orange because I've changed the OS and the Radio, so i'd have to do lots of flashing to get it back to standard. Tomm
Yeah but what did you actually do to the buttons that made them work again? New keypad electronics? And I've changed the OS and the radio but I can flash it back fairly easily. But if it's easy to do myself I might just do that and not bother with the hassle of sending it back. Although those people in that thread make it sound like it's quite hard to take it apart and put it back together...Having said that, if I send it back, what are the chances they will just repair it? Or give me a new one? Because I'd quite like a new one to flog on eBay
JonMack
Erm I just rubbed them with a cloth If I can manage to take one apart then i'm sure you can, you just need to be not worried about breaking it, the grey plastic is real flexible so as soon as you realise where the clips are all you have to do is push in those sections with a flathead screwdriver and pull up and it will slowly come off.No idea what the odds are of a replacement vs repair! My bluetooth seems fine. I've got the Orange MMS settings cab, cheers though.Changing the OS is a bit of a faff for me since I use lots of programs that need reinstalling all the time. And then getting preferences right again etc. Not worth it for small upgrades. What's WM6.1 like though? Worth it over 6.0?
Nuke Bowel
I think I just got the best deal ever.Sony ericsson W960i, free, £35 a month for 600 mins + unlitmitted texts. It should cost £90 for the phone and £45 a month, but I did my research and approached the sales man with various offers on other contracts (:

Worth it over 6.0?It's just a lot faster really, I prefer it cos I had a shitty ROM before and it had a massive memory leak which meant my battery died in like... a day, which pissed me off, also meant my phone got slower and slower until it pretty much died.Apparently with WM6.1 there are problems with bluetooth, cant say I've had any myself but you never know. Tomm
Yeah, the first 6.0 I had (Bepe's - which I think you also had?) was really slow. I since changed to another one and the difference was immense. It was so much faster (and more features too).I never really use bluetooth to be honest. I might have to try 6.1 when I can be arsed P.S. Maybe a longshot but do you know of an app that will let me type texts from my laptop using bluetooth? I know address book is/was supposed to be able to do it but it never seemed to work for me.
Tom Booth
I've had nothign but bad experiences everytime I have wanted to do anything with O2. There a pain in the arse. Customer aftercare is poor, they still owe my mum money from 2 years ago (that was THEIR mistake). Just generally crap really.
