Matthew_Gibson
My BB7 2007 is shot. Cracked, and generally dead. =[ I will be needing a new one. Just wondered what to go for. Either another BB7 or move on. and get a Hope hydro disc? I'm unsure about hydros. as I've had bad experiences with them in the past. They never held fluid and never worked. (but they were both second hand) My options are: BB7 2008BB72007 Rear (just put on the front, Would it work???)Hope Trials disc. Something from the Magura range. I like having bite and hold, and something thats going to slow me down on hills!! . But my avid has lacked that since I put a new disc on. WHat are the advantages of hydro discs over cable? I really dont want to spend a fortune. Thanks!!!
NVWOCI WVS
I'd say stick with a bb7, the 2007 rear will fit with a front adapter, which is £7 from chainreaction. The 2008 I use is awesome, can't really notice it flexing anymore than the old version, so its upto you! Decade Ago
I have a new 203mm BB7, it was spongy as hell. I bought some Oddesey slick cables, a Hope Saw rotor and spent a while resetting it up. I now wouldnt want another front brake. Its awesome. Greetings
BB5 for the win! Had a BB7, Mono Trial and a Louise in the past and none of them were as powerful and trouble-free.

liam-pantera
I think you should possibly condiser something from the magura range , every time i have used a magura disk brake they have had phenominal stopping power and great reliabilty . If your not up for spending about £200 on a marta sl then buy a magura louis . On the mechanical side consider a hayes mx2 there amazing brakes very similar to the bb5 the only differance is its better and not cast .hope my input helped . Adam-Griffin
I had a Hayes HFX9 on the front of my KO, was absolutely shite, no bite atall, it never slipped but , my tektro was better.Havnt had chance to use my BB7 on a trials bike but it seemed Pretty amazing on my other bike, it might be an idea to consider other hopes rather than just the Mono trials, maybe some downhill/xc/freeride brakes ? Avid Juicys?Hope C2's and M4's will give you more than enough stopping power, maybe abit over kill though... abtrials
if you have a lever and cable already get another bb7 thay have far more power than a hope from experiance

Matthew_Gibson
Got it working mint. Set it up proper good. Needed spacers to stopit catching. Not on the forks though. were the adaptor fits. (black arrow) Also put a metal ferule thing on, rather than plasticI think its going to split to the right of the black line. If / When it does. I'll get an

PaRtZ
the discs make a BIG big big difference, maybe you should look at getting a cleansweep rotor before getting a new avid?Worked with me, my rear brake was crap, but now its not too bad
