matt middler
I have snapped a couple of sets of the yourself replica bars, but I still use them now because I like the way they feel. My Levelboss 1065 has lasted for ages, no cracks, no problems, I sold it to a mate and he's had no problems. Thats taken a couple of hard knocks, survived the baggage handlers throwing it at Gatwick airport. I think koxx make strong parts for their weight. Trials Punk
ARE PEOPLE BLIND.If a trials company was a poor one and all the components failed they would not get very far at all. Its all about reputation, if people snap a load of koxx bits then their sales will fall. They'll re think their designs and realease better ones so they gain sales again. You might get 30 of the exact same component made out of the same batch of material. 1 out of those 30 may have defects. THATS LIFE. Just because somebody broke something that was only say a month old dosn't mean its shit. You may find someone has had the exact same part for years.Koxx may have this "reputation" for "weak" parts but they also have the reputation of producing very light components and sponsoring some top riders, they must be doing something right. (if u dont look at the price)Look at the finish on the frames, look at the design, look at the geo, look at the weight....Dont come up to me and say DENG product can be compaired to koxx.... no f**kING way.I dont think ive seen one COMPO (with top riders) that runs echo bike.... Muel
how many koxx frames can you think of that have cracked?Less than Monty's.it varies, anyhow, its well known that koxx have a reputation for weak parts, forks, freewheels, bars, stems, hubs, rims (dont agree with this one), bbs etci only like the cranks, some frames, tyres, pads and rimsThe hubs are solid, my mate has been hammering his for about 6 months, it's amazing how much they are taking. 3rd set of bearings in the back now.Forks, well yeh, they are designed for comps after all, personally I would just get Echo Lites. Cheaper, only 77g more and look nicer.I've had 2 rims, f**k me they're strong! My stem was much stiffer than my current TI one.to be honest, Koxx/Try-All is a competition aimed make, they do their best to get a balance between light weight and strong, the only Try-All part I use at the moment in the front tyre, I love the rebound, they wear at the same rate as a rear creepy, so you don't get spare half worn front tyres in the shed, and they look the dogs bollocks.I dont think ive seen one COMPO (with top riders) that runs echo bike....The 08 Lite disc will be around this year, you watch...Rob Poyser is riding one of the new GUs this year, seems to be working well for him so far. Waynio
i think this thread is funny :lol:its just pure bitching between 2 or 3 people. you could have done it on msn or myspace or facebook. it would have kept this thread much cleaner it is funny to read though.ONZA F T W!!!!! anzo
Surely, you can't boycott a product because one or two of them have snapped? This is not a brand name problem, this is a quality control problem. The bars may have had a hairline fracture in production that went unnoticed; mistakes happen! End of the day, no product is indestructable and never will be - whoever makes it.If you don't like Koxx/Deng products, don't buy them. And if you're so good at picking faults, set up your own multi-million pound company and show them how its done.
Mr.trial_dude
koxx parts will break easier than deng maybe ,(well not all of them) .I don't quite understand why all these people are bitching about try-all having weak parts..try-all parts are made for competition use and weigh alot lighter, if you are TGS rider than just buy parts that are meant to hold for these actions.. but don't argue that your try-all stuff breaks to fast when you use it on street and everything, you can't expect a frame that is 400 grams lighter to hold beter ...ride smoooth
