Ben John-Hynes
i think(don't hold me to this) that it's the lever.pretty sure the cylinders are fine!= ]
Al_Fel
Lever, hose and pistons. ha ha.I've never had one so can't comment. But if my common sence is any good then I'd say that because the brakes are just getting filled up with water straight away (as far as I know they come empty) then the seals arnt lubed up with the oil they need to keep air/water tight. If I were you I'd try bleeding it with mineral oil of some kind to lube everything up then try again with water. This is all speculation on my part though. Greetings
Master cylinder and slaves. It's nothing to do with a water bleed you lot, water doesn't scratch the inside of the cylinders. I'm currently working on a brake that has lost all it's fluid after 2 hours of riding. Already regenerated the master cylinder but I need to wait for some Magura slaves to arrive since it's impossible to get at the Echo ones and those are leaking badly. If the Echo/Magura hybrid will hold it's drinks, I'll post a short guide about repairing the lever. That's probably the only thing you can fix in the Echo brake unless one can dismantle a slave. Will find that out soon, need to cut one in half to see how it's built first. Edited February 16, 2008 by Inur

Greetings
I ran Echo Body And maggie slaves and it worked Fine for about 6 weeks then just went all weird again lolIf you could be bothered, dismantle the Echo lever and have a look inside, I bet you it'll be full of scratches. If not, then one needs to look for the cause elsewhere. One thing is certain, if a woman were to be a bike part she'd have to be the Control brake, menstruating all over the place

BenLeacock™
My slave pistons started leaking today, just bild them and bled them, not sure if its that or because im not using the standad bolt ? Seems to be coming out out from were the bleed bolt goes ? is this the normal place ?I put some ptfe tape on the threads and its still coming out Going to try normal bleed screw instead of a tarty one Edited February 17, 2008 by BenLeacock
