Onza-Trials Posted February 15, 2008 Report Share Posted February 15, 2008 Hi there i have been asking around for a bit about what pads are the best on a smooth rim, so i thought i would get myself some plaz pads in the end.Everyone i have asked and watched there plaz pads have been bitey and and hell lot of sound and hold, i put my pads on hopeing for the best when i reaslised how bad they was, no bite? no sound what so ever? So then i thought il add a dab of tar, still useless? can anyone give me any tips on how to get them running so they have Bite, Sound and Hold. N.Wood Posted February 15, 2008 Report Share Posted February 15, 2008 Degrease the rim (use Muc-Off or a soapy water mix that is then washed off).Let them bed in for a while.If they're still shit try setting them up again/differently. Dave Anscombe Posted February 15, 2008 Report Share Posted February 15, 2008 When my plaz pads done this on a smooth rim all i done.......was clean the rim clean water.....and just rough the surface of the rim up with sandpaper...this takes a tiny layer of the pad off and allows them to bed in much quicker.........place the sand paper in you hand and go around the rim in a circular motion pressing fairly hard......this will sort you right out You may thank me when your done Dave Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
