If I were you mike I'd be looking to send a letter via a solicitor of sorts asking either for the hub or money within 10 days or you'd be taking him to small claims.obviously a letter from a solicitor is going to cost in the region of £40-100 but if you've got any mates in law then i'm sure they could throw something together for you for a few quid and remember if you do go to court then your law fees will be signed onto his sorry ass. If I were you mike I'd be looking to send a letter via a solicitor of sorts asking either for the hub or money within 10 days or you'd be taking him to small claims.obviously a letter from a solicitor is going to cost in the region of £40-100 but if you've got any mates in law then i'm sure they could throw something together for you for a few quid and remember if you do go to court then your law fees will be signed onto his sorry ass.dont need a solicitor to write a letter threatening the small claims court. ive wrote loads up for the valeter at work, as he doesnt have a pc, and tends to take everyone to the small claims court(he takes 4 or 5 holidays a year, and tends to complain about 2 or 3 of them)have a read about what you need to do on the web, basically an a4 letter, with your name and address on the top, his on the other side. then say whats happened. how you entered into a deal with him to purchase an item, for a certain price on the given date, it was either said, or implied, that it would be sent out in reasonable time from the receipt of payment. it has now been x number of days and the item still hasnt been recieved. you understand he has had issues with his personal life, but now he is able to get on the internet, and go on rides, and afford a new bike for himself. if you do not recieve a refund, or the item within X number of days, you will be commencing legal proceedings at court Y at 10am on the X/X of 2008.obviously you need to fill in the blanks, and stretch it out, but basically thats it.dont know how you stand, as theres no written contract, and its a private seller, and a lot of terms wern;t set in stone, but its worth a go.
