Boswell
Hopefully this year I will be getting a car and I was wondering what first cars other people have bought or the car they are panning to buy?
Gavyn.
have a look through the earlier pages of the car thread.anyway i've bought a 79 mini special, really as a bridge car, project, money making sort of thing before I get a mk1 escort mexico, (already sourced it and agreed that at the end of the year when the owner knocks the garage down I will come and collect it ) really can't wait until then but i'm going to have some fun in the mini before winter then have some broadside action though winter in the mk1 then restore it over spring time in time for summer Edited February 13, 2008 by G4vyn

Sneakers O'Toole
I got a Corsa for my first car. Cost me £1100 i seem to remember. It was a cool little motor, did plenty of miles in it and it was quite reliable apart from the 3 exhausts i went through.

The Duck
Want a clio, my 17th in 10 days...Mark 2 would do, would love a mark 3. 1.4 should do the trick too.Any good lines people have used to persuade their stingy but seemingly well-off dads to get them a car? Tony Harrison
Get a 1.7D Astra. Keep the oil changes up to date and the engines last forever!
Muel
Want a cheap car that will run forever? 205 diesel. Ours was slow as shit, we got 104 out of it once, but it was super cheap to run. The only thing that failed was the drive shaft every so often, cheap to repair.I wondering about doing my driving text next year, so one of these will be the car I am after.EDIT: Just looked at the insurance. £2740 is the cheapest on confused.com. Lukeee
I treated myself to a pretty cool Vauxhall Corsa SXI as my first car. Cost me around £12,000 brand new i think. I sold it after a few years mind. As you really don't need a car living in London, you need a fixie.
