I know what you mean man. If I'm on my 24 then there's ALWAYS something to do within riding distance - even if it's a 1ft ledge there's stuff to try / do on it.

In Barnsley centre the other night there was a flowerbed with parallel walls like this | | about a foot high and a bikes length wide, and me, Judders, Lewis, Street and Tim sessioned it for ages making up tonnes of combos. I think it maybe comes from the older generation of riders, and the newer riders (hate to say it but TGS) look at stuff more conventionally and with less variation.

99% of riders these days would just pass them walls we rode off as a tiny up/sidehop/gap, be done with it and ride to a wall which is there or just above their sidehopping level. But then for those guys sessioning that wall for half an hour trying to stick a big sidehop is fun so it's just different, ennit.

Pallet + 1' wall = hours of fun

Few train tracks (at the crossing points - 0 to 30" gap, 3" high) = more hours of fun...

I think a lot of people often try to ride to get 'better', as in trying to push themselves higher and further. While that's fair enough, I'd much rather go out, play about a bit, and have a shitload of fun doing it!

I'm far from a 'good' rider, but I'd like to think that I have a little creativity in that I don't let not being able to sidehop (at all :P) hold me back that much.

If I could sidehop big stuff, it'd only be there to open up new lines :P
