JonMack
Basically I woke up because my iMac was randomly restarting, it did this before, but it was because the computer was getting too hot and the fans were clogged. I'm going to try cleaning it again but in the mean time...After about 20 minutes my iMac randomly restarts, at the same time the wireless network drops. My iMac then restarts and boots up, and after about 20 minutes it does it again, wonderful. Can anyone shed some light as to why it might be doing this... JonMack
Well I've put my iMac to sleep and now it's fine... I'm assuming it's some kind of iMac restarts, sends a surge through the ethernet port, which then kills the router...Doesn't solve my problem though :/
JonMack
Anyone got any ideas?
anzo
Tried disabling the router/disconnecting the ethernet cable to rule out a surge?
JonMack
When I had the computer asleep the network didn't drop at all, so I'm assuming that the iMac dropping power is what's killing the network. I'm gonna hoover it out today and see if that makes any difference, if it doesnt... I'm gonna have a fun job backing up all my music onto here I guess
