1a2bcio8
Hello, I'm looking to shed myself of the azonic bars on my bike with regards to a fear of snappage. I was wondering if anyone has tried any of the atomlab bars and how did they find them with regards to strength but also geomtry? These look as though they might be good or that at least they might bend a bit before they snap.If anyone has any other suggestions of some good riser bars (looking for 2.5" ideally) that are strong, please if you could let me know ThanksBen Edited February 11, 2008 by rowly
Brian Bleech
I ran some atomlab G.I street bars and they lasted a week before they bent, no idea on those Jesme ones though. For strength Easton wins hand down for alu bars, I am going to be giving the Deity bars a try. Heard good things about them and they feel nice too. More 'streety' than the Easton. Unfortunately both only come in 2" rise.

Were the GI street bars cromoly? I can't seem to find a street GI?

Although that was when my riding was more extreme. To be honest, I found the geometry a bit poo. They really do bend before they break though! Thanks for the advice so far chaps It's looking increasingly like taking a chance on the jesme bars, especially with the 3" rise. Were the GI street bars cromoly? I can't seem to find a street GI?This was a about 1.5 years ago, I think they were the same as the G.I. Cromo Race Riser, but yeah they were steel. They were also a b*****d to get the shim to stop slipping.Personally I don't really rate atomlab products. I would be far tempted to go for DMR or Gusset Bars, the open prison 3" look pretty good never tried them though. Ignore
ZeroMatt
I can't say I've had any issues with my Fire eye bars on my other bike, they feel really nice. Only little annoyance is the 22.2 mm clamp. Edited February 11, 2008 by ZeroMatt
eskimo
These are high on the list for the street/ ramp riders. 2 year warranty and all i read is good about them. Dunno if these were the ones you were on about though?

1a2bcio8
Ok, I made a mistake. I had the older prison bars. These open ones have a higher rise and different geo which is cool. I think I will give them a try as they are cheaper and don't require shims. Thanks for all of your help They have holes in them!!!!Yeh I have to admit, despite my ignorance as to what really makes a strong bar, the holes affect some fear in me
