nikolai
Do not ride in Salford. I mistakenly advised people that Salford has a lot to offer a trials rider in this thread:http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=111234I had only explored that place before on weekdays. It looked a little shady, but okay. I guess all the miscreants were either in school or in some court-mandated reform program.I went there this morning and was chased by two gangs of criminal youths who were shouting "Give me your motherf-ing bike!" one of the gangs was pelting me with stones. One asshole threw his bicycle at me. Do not ride in Salford.
Tomm
Welcome to England. Salford is probably the worst place in Manchester, which puts it pretty high in the running for the worst place in England. I'm not particularly surprised by this story to be honest. Sounds like you got away with your bike though?
zoo
Even people who have never been to Salford have usually heard about it's reputation, like moss side.
Tomm
Even people who have never been to Salford have usually heard about it's reputation, like moss side.Moss side is OK now though. Manchester council has spent millions on making it look nice, and extra policing etc. I've got quite a few friends who live in Moss side and apparently it's alright. So now Salford is much worse than Moss side.

So now Salford is much worse than Moss side.yea moss side isnt too bad, admittedly down some of the side streets its still very much an area owned by the locals. and certain people run the show. ( i know a couple of lads who where working down there tarmacing the road, a bloke came to them and spoke to them, said if you need anything, come see me, and they thought theyd humour him asking him to get cars moved when they needed them moved, but the bloke was actually someone round there, and cars where moved within 5 minutes, with lil chavs too young to drive coming running up the road to move these cars).but theres plenty of rough areas in manchester now. had a few runs ins in levenshume, certain bits of northenden etc. but sure if you went riding in a large group, you wouldnt get too much hassle. nikolai
I did make it out with my bicycle. This happened about four hours ago and I'm still tense and jumpy. England is a s-hole. Today is the first day since arriving in the UK that I felt homesick.

BenLeacockâ„¢
My dads phones got nicked in salford, he had them in his wagon in the centre with all doors shut. He was at the side closing a gate, in sight of the wagon, some little bastards ran up, nicked the phones ran off. Then he tried ringing them, they were like you want us to brick you windows he said he would leave another phone on the step, but he pussed out and went to a security carpark
Token
If salford is the worst place in Manchester, and Manchester has more gun crime than London and New York put together, then it's got to be the worst place in the country to ride. Caleb
I was in Salford most of friday and saturday and went out into town there with no troubles, in fairness there were a few of us and we weren't drawing attention to ourselves on trials bikes . . .I really like manchester though, got a top night life, you've got to appreciate also there is an abundance of f**kk tards everywhere just stay away from the areas where they are concentrated to small parts. Manchester city center is awesome there is some really smart stuff to ride and some cool people about. The apres bike is excellent, with lots of bars and clubs.
