tartan pixie
Do people think 24" are a pain to get parts for and do you think the situation will get better or worse. Would you consider a 24" if you were getting a new bike?
basher
It will get better as its getting more popular, but theres only rims that are a pain that i can think of and companys have already started to do some 24 rims such as onza and viz and then theres all the other not so trials persific rims. Luke Rainbird
A few more trials-specific tyres/rims (though on the most part street 24" kit is ok for this) wouldn't go amiss, however most other parts are transferable from mod/stock bikes.Forks with 24" rim brake mounts would be welcomed I'm sure, and perhaps spokes made more readily available, but on the whole everything's in place, and ready to expand

trialsguru
the only thing putting me off going 24 is tyre choice, everythings either a 1.95 slick or 2.7 monster with the odd 1 or 2 in between.
The Riddlers
Ive run 24's for 5-6 years no and never had any issues!

A dmr moto digger on the front works great. Maxxis make the 2.4 Holy roller which is perfect if you want a wider street tire.Yeah some forks with rim mounts would be great though. trialsguru
its not so much a trials tyre i would be after just something like a 2.2 with moderate tread, similar to the maxxis bling bling
MadManMike
24" is great for me, I ride a jump bike so it's probably slightly different but BMX / Mods feel too small, and stocks / 26" jumpers feel a little too big - 24's are nice and controllable.I'll get a 24" Trials bike for the summer, I miss trials! aener
Recently moved up to 24" (from mod).Got a Zoot - and am in no way regretting it.After two rides, I can gap a foot further than on mod, and just feel much more at home on it.Went for it as stocks feel too big for me, and I was crunched up on a mod.Without wanting to sound like a wannabe innovator - I hope Deng doesn't make 24's... He's already got [pretty much] a monopoly on the trials market (by which, I mean - he must take around half/two thirds of the custom, atleast?)Not saying this is a bad thing, they're very good frames - but I think it'd do the scene a lot of good if Deng doesn't own trials GOOOO ANTI-DENG! Davetrials
i dont get this whole, "anti deng" bollox, its all a bit erm "emo" YAY lets be different lets hate the masses....why though, none of you can say that the frames deng makes are in anyway bad..there cheapthere strongthey loom prettyif he made a 24 with the correct input what would be wrong with that, the only probly i could think of is that the importers would get pissed cos he'd make it in a 1000 different colours.imagine an old skool purebut 24", id deffinetly sign up for one.
