Ok, I decided to finally sort out my Traxxas T-Maxx, got glow starter igniter and controller + servo/radio batteries charging.

The needles are in a proper proper random position. So I was hoping you guys could tell me how to get it started and how to sort it tuning wise? Wind them both all the way out (richest) and go from there?

Well maybe i could start, i have a Mammoth ST and a HPI Savage X 4.1 Big Block :) We can all discuss things and say what cars you own! Maybe some pictures be nice too.

alright not being big headed but i think iv got the fastest and nicest schumacher mission pro i no. its fully tuned with a 19 turn orian element motor with 4200 batterys to power it (its so os quick) and foam tyers it handles very nice with a £100.00 servo withch has ti gears and fully sealed bearings and with every thing carbon that you can get for it its very light to.

what do you guys think?

Associated tc4 with fully carbon fibre chassis, titanium drive axles, ball cups and bolts etc super light with lrp quantum 2 esc and some mental low turn motor. soon to be a brushless motor. :P

Will edit with pics when i can.

Edit: got a tc3 with custom carbon fibre chassis and an associated buggy that killed both rear wishbones on a 5 ft ramp. :(

Surely a 12 turn double motor will shit all over that? :)

Used to race for several years back in the 90s, still got my last car which is a yokomo ex-factory yz10 super dogfighter, also got a couple of really old school PB mini mustangs in bits in the shed :D

My old schumacher cougar was timed at 35 odd mph at a meeting at castle coombe race track, wasnt quite so quick on the corners with me driving though :(

Gonna get my nitro one up and running again and take it on the new bit of the promenade. Is flat as a 2 year old girls chest and a bloody massive space, they are gonna hold concerts on it lol.

Need to tune the carb, fit the exhaust in a place where the bolt doesnt touch the floor and give it a good clean.

Im sure i recognise you from your pics in another thread. Where did you used to race, i used to race a few years ago, did a lot of meetings when i was sponsored by Schumacher, maybe we raced at the same place?

So now I have some more upgrades for what is my fifth attempt at a powerful, RELIABLE dagger. This time I have really thought things through, and the main aim is to make a controllable r/c. With this in mind I started looking into things and realised that there are two main problems in my previous designs: I have always used far too heavy wheels and have always had a far too heavy chassis.

While I can do chassis design, I am more of an engineer than an artist, so things tend to be rather chunky, so I handed things over to Demon, who has produced some beautiful chassis in the past, and I will hopefully soon(ish) be getting a lovely new demon chassis

This time I did some research into wheel/tyre weight - basically the less is better, as unsprung weight flying around the place gives huge control issues. However, due to the nature of the daggers fixed gearing, I needed large wheels/tyres to give me a high enough top end speed. When browsing the Proline site I found what I was looking for: Low profile 40 series Bowties. Each tyre only weights 152g!!! To put that into perspective, 2.2 Bow-Tie MT such as those used by dagger thrasher are 152g as well, and masher 2ks are apparently 200g each!!!

So - I ordered a set with some proline Wabash rims, and I think they look great together:

As they have a huge negative offset I then needed some longer arms, and after a bit of hunting I decided to go for the suspension from an XTM mammoth ST as it almost drops straight on! I am also running proper cvd's in the front which should help. I got some alloy arms of a guy on one of the forums, and they look great along with the other alloy suspension upgrades:

I am now using 23mm hexes, with 8mm shafts, so hopefully I will have far less breakages:

When my chassis arrives I then be able to work out what shocks to use, Paul of V_Racing has some great looking things, so hopefully he will get a call for some shocks at some stage.

Another reason for going for mammoth ST suspension is that it then gives me the ability to run anti roll bars which I think are essential on the dagger.

I also got my mum to get me a early chrismas pesent. I did not feel like entrusting my (far too) expensive truck to a crappy £30 acoms system:

post-17707-1217640567_thumb.jpg

Once the chassis is ready I can then start piecing things together and design the shock towers - I also have a few cunning ideas which I want to try out.

I then tried a trial fit - it fits great, and the top arm will be just where I want it > It will be partially attached to the shock tower and servo mount (you will see what I mean if you know how I mount my shocks

For some reason the wheels look vast, but they are not actually that big...

I have had a bit of a chance to do some work, but not much really, as I have completely underestimated the amount of work we get in the second year...

I decided to jump in the deep end, and purchased a full set of the new hong nor/ ofna 16mm big bore shocks - they are not cheap, and I had to buy two sets as I use the same length in the front and rear...

The second picture shows it all layed out to length - big isn't it?

What the hell? You're 14, you're most definitely not at University.

That's the gayest lie ever.

Second year of collage, we have to do are GCSE's in the second year of school, are school does it a year before everyone else.

Hmmm ok. Anyway whoever made that chassis did a nice job.

Just been out, T-Maxx starts first time every time! I can't believe how much fun it is and this was just on the road! Tipped it once without the body >_< Ran for ages whilst I ran over to it, only cut out when I turned it the right way up!

i beg your pardon, i started my gcse's in year 10, thats 2 years before you get to "college age"

like this

primary school years 1,2&3 do key stage 1

junior schools, years 3,4,5&6 do key stage 2

senior schools years 7,8 &9 do key stage 3 and do the SAT's at the end of year 9

senior school years 10&11 do gcse's. you take the exams when you 16, or just coming up to it

college and uni are when compulsary education finishes so how your going to do gcse's when you dont even have to be in college is beyond me. is anybody else comfused by this kid??
