Radfax
to be honest you can start riding on anything, i learnt on a 2000 model Brian lopes 4x frame haha so yes it is possible, and when he can afford a proper bike he will be even better! Just get out and ride!

unexpected_racer
be quiet...shoguns are good lil bikes that are extremely cheap, therefore getting more people into the sport....Yes cheap and cheerfull, My freind had four gimp and every single 1 of then the freewheel went every couple of weeks and also every single one of the rear rims split in the center of the side wall.I personally do not like gimps i rode my mates manytime and did not like them one bit. But the gimp did get my mate hopping about and to be honest my mate is terrible at trials so if it helped him im sure it will help you.sam
Ben-Shogun gimp
hey man i had a shogun and i loved it to pieces.. until i snapped it which was a bit of a bummer but because its a heavier trials bike when i got my t-pro i was like twice as good on it as it was lighter and i had more room to move around id deffo keep it until u really cant get better on itben x
