pogo
I've had my ashton since december it's fully built and came with a Mavic D521 rear rim, was just wondering what everyone else uses because i'm thinking of replacing it with something a bit beefier but dunno what to try. Jonny Jones
I've got a Justice, and have a 521 on the back... well Mavic call it the Ex721 now. Seriously dude, the strongest rim you could use for Trials imo!
planet x alan
Atomlab pimp I'd say. had one for nearly a year and a half. still sweet as a nut!and I'm a well harsh rider on that bike. The holes drilled in the rim for the spokes are larger and you are given bigger nipples with a torx head also so you can get more tension in the rim thus a stronger build.pimp Edited February 1, 2008 by planet x alan
trials_noir
aston Justice, nice , i ride mine with a try-all rim on a hope bulb, i feel its pretty strong and the brakes run fine aswell.
steve@banbury-trials
if your after a full width trials rim then you should consider echo rims, they have 46mm width and have double thickness brake walls if your after something slightly thinner then maybe look at alex rims wich are 38mm.steve
pogo
Chers for the replies, i think it's still got some life in it but am putting a second grind on it tonight because it's just gone smooth all of a sudden and was just seeing what everyone else used in case i mess it up. planet x alan
How well does it hold a grind or haven't you got one?never bothered to grind it, i just use a bit of tar and some decent pads, its on my curtis so its used for more streety trials.
