RossMcd
is it a freewheel or a locked sprocket?if its a locked sprocket then stick it in a vice and turn the wheelthat should get it off!
Ladd
If its a small fixed 12t rear sprocket you get a chain whip with a big pole on it worked on my mates 2 year old wheel lol
Chappie
Cheers lads! Aye its 12t fixed sproket! Im trying a chain round it and pole technique but its taking alot of pressure! It will be anti-cockwise to come off? But i suppose its the 2000 model so its been on there for about 7 years! haha! Worried about twisting the spokes, should i be? steve@banbury-trials
boil the kettle ,make a cuppa and then poor the rest of the hot water onto the threads and pull the bar, should come off then.if it doesnt more extreme measures may need to be taken

cai
my way was to get the chain aswel as the wheel, wrap the chain around the cog,put the hanging bit of the chain in a vice, and simply turn the wheel.allthough using a chain whip would most proberly be a quicker way to do it!
