Matt Burrows
MinionHigh RollerSingle ply for the rear? No thanks, I'd have a 40/42 Hansventure everytime. They are super grippy and last amazingly well, way way longer than other Maxxis 42a tyres I've run (minion, high roller and swamp thing). I think a 40a minion or high roller is slightly grippier and probably better for comps, but for all round riding the hans is a million miles ahead in my book. I've already got through 2 and I like it so much I bought another 2 as spares when the current one wears out.
Luke Rainbird
Single ply for the rear?Yes.Single ply tyres are absoulutely fine, but obviously it depends on what conditions you put them in.Single ply + thin tube is very different to single ply and thick tube which is very different to dual ply with thick tube which is very diffe....There are differences in the properties of single/dual ply tyres, thick/thin tubes etc that make them more suitable for different conditionsI've never run a dual ply tyre in my life, and have had no more punctures than anybody else I know
lankyri
i like the intense tires some people may not agree with me but i got mine for 15 quid and had the same tread as a hi roller and that lasted me for at least 10months and i never got a pinch, was also pretty light but maxxis tires have got a better rep and still worth the extra few quid
