Chappie
Hi,Just fitted a KMC Kool chain to my ('00) T-Pro. Its driving the back wheel fine but is making a hell of a rattle. The chain looks to be sitting at a slight slope from the inside of the rear sproket? I have the straight edge of the chain to the outside and the curved side on the inside. And its tension looks good. Any ideas whats wrong? Or do they just rattle anyways?Chap
sidehop
It will be hitting the frame somewhere, Usally they look fine but when you hop about, They give it laldey and rattle.
Chappie
Im almost positive its no hitting the frame. It rattles just when i pedal it using my hands.. . .
Dave Anscombe
that would be dirt and grit from the cogs/frewheel..getting in to the chain plates......and im shure if you were to pinch the chain it will touch the chainstays......old inner tube ...wrap it around the chainstays .that will stop the noise dave x
Chappie
I still dont think thats the problem. I think the rear sprockets teeth are too shallow to accomodate for this chain. I think this because the chain is coming down completly over the teeth and hitting the threaded part of the sproket. Did the old t-pros have smaller sprokets?! Chappie
Looks pretty straight like. I thought that too, but then the wheel line looks straight, so surely chain cant be far off???Chap
Ladd
Is the chain to tight?
Chappie
Yes, i think thats where the noise is coming from. Is this a problem like? Do i need a new sproket? It doesnt do this on the freewheel.
Ladd
Just loosen the chain of really slack spin the wheel see if you can hear the noise if you cant chain tensioner is your problem
