basher
More than likely they are just the same strenght wise. Bb7s arent amzinglu strong as there cast so after a while you can expect to snap one especially if you run a big rotar
Luke Rainbird
I seem to remember Craig saying his '08 wasn't quite so good, or was a little more flexy due to having more material removed to save weight.I'll try and point him to this
craigjames
the main gripe ive had with mine is that where they have taken so much material away from the calliper it actually flexes to the point where the feel at the lever is noticable spongier than the 07 one i have on the rear. everthing is tight, everythign is faced, im using a linear slic cable, with and avid lever so its nothing in the set up.if you can get one, get the earlier version, its heavier and not so pretty, but in my opinion a better brake. N.Wood
Cheers Craig.. I'm after an earlier one ideally (tried n tested and that) but i really wanna ride this weekend and can't find anywhere selling the pre 08 ones. Will check the local bike shops, if not it'll have to be an '
smoke257
Hey iv got an 08 version, i found it was spongy at first because the caliper was flexing. But after a refaced it and set the pads up differently it feels mint now locks like a bitch and has lots of modulation just as good as my old 07 . Shaun H
Newer ones as mentioned above have less beef on 'em. However the biggest change is that they are now 2 piece , an unfortunate decision for us trials riders as they don't work quite as well. Silly Avid. Rumplestiltskin
Mine works fantastically. After taking around a week or so to bed in it's now easily the best brake I've ridden. It's got amazing bite and power, and just the right amount of modulation. I'm not even using a particularly amazing set up - deore v brake lever and normal shimano cable and my set up works just as well, if not better, than my friends 07 version with linear slick cable and an avid lever. It's performance is also easily on par with another friends hope trials disc.

Silly Avid.i thought the old versions were two piece also, but the originals were bonded before being bolted together and that the new ones werent. they're defo not as stiff. They have steel bolts in them to increase stiffness
