spartan
Sorry I know this post is pretty stupid but i am at a real emotional/finacial dilemma. So, this year I want to get: a new stem and bar combo (135$), a new wheelset (400$) and a new front brake. As i am a student I dont have big money. So i want to decide, should i get just a new rear wheel and not a front one to be able to afford a mono trials front brake.Or should i get a whole wheelset and get a less expensive front brake. (I have connections to get avid codes or juicy 7 for under 100$).Or should i just splurge for everything and not have any money left. I cant decide. Are avid juicy 7s ok or is the hope a better choice, or should i get a code or something. Thanks for your helpand sorry for the crappy postI am from Canada by the way, eg everything is CAD not euros or pounds or quid or pittence or however the hell the money works over there

Ladd
Get the front brake and bars or a stem mate
spartan
so what im hearing is that i should get the front brake bar/ stem and rear wheel then when the front gets worn or damaged replace it.And what about the front brake, is the mono trials really worth the extra 150 or so over the juicy 7?? Ladd
I would get A bb7 mate i can gap to front wheel very very had and it wont slip at all ! bb7's rule and are like £
spartan
So the BB7 is better than the juicy 7.I've had BB7s on my street bikes but never on my trials bike, do they feel as good as hydraulic brakes and do they have good power without being squishy. But thats a good call Mod-Mike i over look the BB7
steve@banbury-trials
the new bb7 is slightly more spongey than previous versions as it has had more material taken of it to lighten it up,the power is still there though.i would say it is a better brake than most hydrolics (sp) as you can really fine tune the brake to however you like it.my front brake cost around £75 and that with a extra lever and cable(just incase i should need them).hope i've helped, steve
ilikeriding
Could go second hand and get all the stuff?, make sure its of a reliable brand though with a decent warranty on hubs
spartan
yeah but I want to get some new stuff, i doubt ill be able to find white echo rims laced to green echo hubs (135mm) with the built in tennsioner. And for the brake, I can get 80% off retail price on any avid brake so im thinking either the code or the juicy.Im not that stoked on the bb7 but ill borrow my bro and give it a try. Thanks for the help guys
