Fishy
So I'm confused with what Fenchurch said. Will my laptop be all shit if I downgrade? Vista is officially shit and slow.
Sam F
Basically.. you won't be able to use wireless internet UNLESS they have windows XP drivers out for your laptop. And play games UNLESS they have graphics drivers out for your laptop.
anzo
Right down all the manufactures of your Wireless products, graphics cards, sound cards, printers and any other stuff. Download the drivers (XP compatible!) and stick them on a disc. Back up all the data onto Disc. Install XP onto the laptop. Usually the devices will be automatically configured although you may need to install the drivers for a lot of stuff using the disc you previously made.A lot of people downgrade and their computers cannot access the internet to download the drivers they should have previously downloaded! Danny
Get on the manufacturers site first and get the drivers for everything and whang em on a disk. There should be xp drivers easily available. And yes installing xp will delete EVERYTHING on it (unless you have multiple partitions setup on it which i doubt). Krisboats
Some laptops also come with the vista recovery software based as a seperate partition rather than a disc so be sure to back that up as well. What sort of spec is the laptop though, for me, vistas been anything but slow. Apart from playing crysis and supreme commander, vista is faster at everything compared to XP.
