Simpson
Basically wasn't sure where to post this or whatever but thought everone should know becuase it really can come in usefull and worked really well. Basically i was out on a ride with no siringe as no-one ever seems to have any arround here and had a totally empty brake. Just wacked a bleeding tube into the bottle filled it up with water to the brim, undid the bleed screws pushed all the air out an then bled though.Literally i put no effort into it becuase i didn't think it would work and the brake was totally empty, just gave it a second squirt until it ran out and did it up and it worked pretty well! The bottle didnt leak (with no tape or anything) and the bottle just crumbled and didnt suck any air through into the system so it was perfect and worked so well!I think its because with the sports bottles they have that no spill value (the one you can spit water out into other people) so it held the bleeding tube in place and forced all water and air into the tube and not out of it. Dont think i need to post pictures or anything, a few people were amazed with the results and did it to and it worked for everyone! literally the whole bleeding process took about 3 minutes so easy and simple! Dan6061
I just drilled a 5mm hole in a bottle lid, pushed the pipe through, and squeezed the bottle to bleed it.Worked a treat!
Simpson
I know just this wasn't a bodge! it worked so well and was so quick and no hasstle!I know if i was using a siringe i would have been there for an hour and had a massive pain in the ass and just ended up squirting loads of air into there! this was so mint quick and simple! Genious!Ive tryed it with bottles before as you know, just with the lucozade bottle the sports valve held the tube in place mint!

fyfey
Nice one, may come in handy if I'm ever stuck with no syringe and an empty brake!I can't see how it would take an hour with a syringe, lol. Takes about 5 minutes!
Elmo =)
that was such a good idea, i was amazed that it gave a better bleed then doing all that crap in the bath and fiddling around with your brake. all you did was use a lucazade bottle, love it Simpson. (mind you us Simpson's are amazing ) Edited January 22, 2008 by byron simpson
