I rarely do drops like that, to obviously minimalise the damage they can do, to me and my bike but I thought they'd be a good "wow factor" to the vid so in they went...glad you enjoyed itNice riding man, nice vid rediculas drops lol. Thanks man MINT! All in AllMINT VIDMcInnes. Cheers dude, the gap at 2:11 was rather large yeah! So last min too, battery was running out, i was knackered - it was actually done on my way back home which still involved going up a hill Glad you liked the drops too! And my bike says thanks, but i'm taken.Your video wasn't too bad atall either Funny seeing someone so young progressing so well, in a good way keep it up. Jsy Ben
some cool clips in there, drop just looked silly, dont understand why people do them really...just destroy your bike The Gu le looks rather nice though, i must saygd vid!Cheers I try to do my best with the filming, but i quite often find myself riding alone and are in need of a bigger tripod for my camera to get the perfect views/clips imo...Drops in my book are fine, if you don't do them often and when you do them there on film thats fine, so your minimalising the damage they do to your bike by doing them very rarely. Personally i don't think they cause too much damage (pulling spokes through the rim from sidehops and gaps is a bigger issue for me - hence my eyeletted Revell rear rim), and as to why people do drops...i strongly pressume its for the same reason why everyone rides - for the rush. I think drop gaps put a fair bit more force through the bike in general compared to drops, but...Standing on top of those drops and looking down was fooking scary, but exciting, just running through your mind what its gunna look like on film, how to go about controlling the bike, the landing etc and personally for the achievement of doing it, and having that massive hang time in the air as the ground comes inevibately (sp) closer then trying to land it (as i succesfully didn't on 2 occasions as you saw lol and only just managed to keep my limbs on the bike for a very short amount of time on the 3rd attempt) is like a said, such a big rush! and overwhelming sense of achievement that comes with most moves in Trials.I admit theres still a great deal of achievement in doing your biggest sidehop, static backhweel or cleaning the hardest "natty" line you can mark out for yourself, but i guess it's what you as a viewer values more in riding - like whether you like to see lots of power controlled into riding such as Watson's, Tunnicliffe's, CLS or TRA etc or a more technical approach such as Stan Shaw or Felix, or a technical, yet powerfull and smooth approach such as Ali C, Andrei Burton, Benito, Kenny....Basically translates/boils down to natural or street really now i come to think of it, with some "inbetweeness".I suppose i try to ride inbetween, and even enjoy riding inbetween which i guess is the important bit..... hang on, wayyyyy off the point, but won't delete it as that was some long typing (for me)Point: drops will always be around as a "wow factor" and to "indulge" in that massive falling rush to the ground every so often...if thats what your into P.s Thanks for the compliment on Bike and vid. Jsy Ben
very nice in general, there were a few clips in there i thought weremassively outclassed by other clips (the gaps seemed to vary a lot in size?)how many feet do you reccon that biggest drop was???Thanks and i think i know what you mean when you talk about the "outclassing" - bare in mind this video was shot and editied in 3 days so everything isn't going to be top top stuff and therefore some stuff will look "out classed" by others. Some things that looked good on film and i thought would suit certain parts of the video went in the video just down to varying the video and helping the footage "click" with the song. And not everything on the street is sized perfectly for me to perform my best moves on so maybe some of it doesn't as good as other bits.... but thanks for the input I'l take longer to film the next one, making sure everything passes and fits into a high catergory of riding I'm not sure how big the drop was exactly, i could take a rough guess - pressuming Tom (the guy standing at the bottom) is 5'10 (average sorta height) i'd "guesstimate" the drop is somewhere between 11ft and 13ft - like i said no real idea!.....I'd definatly say for certain its bigger than a street lampost, you may ask why if you like but i'm tired of typing at the moment lol....I was compared to it, it was f**king huge but i do not know really, looks a hell lot bigger in real life though! It does look alot bigger yeh, and an extra 5ft when looking from my eye level down....For example the big big drop is more than head height above the drop at 57-59ishsecs in to the vid. walker
Haha, nice vid, doesn't seem like you have much concern for your own safety with those drops. I probably wouldnt do it in the first place, but if i did, i certainly wouldnt do it a second time after that first effort!! Bike seems nice, shame all these frames are black, it seems you run ur rear tyre very soft, that rims not gonna last! hehe.Anyway, nice vid, no death metal music which is good and no sidehops to speak of, i dont think....? AndrewI have every intention in keeping my health lol, I did it because i thought it was possible, therorectically anyway beforehand, after the first attempt i admit double wheel landing phased me abit but, try try and try again...Bike is nice thanks, overall its shorter than my Triton and has a shorter back end, so its pretty nice on the backwheel and reasonably flicky too - how i like it I like to vary the feel of my bike whether its running the tyres abit flatter or changing the bars its all entertaining and challenging for me, aswell as giving me benefits in certain moves...my bike is always changing, and changing back, and changing again I don't rim things though - coming into my 4th year riding soon, so practice makes perfect impressed......... gu looks like it rides lovely. those drops were awsum. watchin those 3 takes of it actually made me swear out loud. brilliant. xThe Gu does ride lovely, who ever says a decent bike (Koxx being on the extreme end) doesn't help you progress is wrong full stop. A good, strong well maintained bike will always benefit your riding...I'm hoping you swearing at me is a good thing lol, glad you enjoyed it

Jsy Ben
Thanks for the compliment Steve I used to make exceptions whilst riding whithout a helmet, nowadays I rarely do anything without it...almost feels wrong not having something on ma head Second video will be out shortly with the amount of "tee-shirt and shorts" weather we've had over here!
