dirt jumper jake
Hi,while looking at the forks on "stunt man t's" t-master some one told me they were stock forks with re-welded mounts, does this do any good as in ride wise?, would it be possible to do it myself? what are the benefits? or is it a waste of time?does any one else apart from "stunt man t" use these forks ? could tell me how they are to ride?jake. Ladd
if you think they only make them forks in 26 then your wrong because they make 20'' and 26'' version i would never touched cut and reweled forks
Gavyn.
stock forks on mods work fine if you run a disk, I actually quite like them.

Krisboats
They are mod forks and dont have re welded mounts. The mod and stock versions are the same, with the mounts in different positions.if you think they only make them forks in 26 then your wrong because they make 20'' and 26'' version i would never touched cut and reweled forksThey havn't been cut or re-welded, they are a pair of forks that are the same in size for both 20" and 26" with the only difference being the position of the 4 bolt mounts. The mounts are lower down on the legs on the 20" specific versions.

Ash-Trials
The mod and stock versions are the same, with the mounts in different positions.Yeah what i mean kris is that they are not stock forks with the mounts re-welded for a mod
dirt jumper jake
do you think it is possible for me to buy a set of 26" forks and get the magura mounts re welded lower ?
Krisboats
what i mean is re-welded magura mounts, if i can get hold of a disc hub i may try this. They aren't re-welded though... they came like that. Thats how they were manufactured. It was me who said they're stock forks with the mounts in a different place in the last thread and i didn't say they'd been re-welded.Re-welding the mounts in a different place would ruin the heat-treating of the forks. They'd need to be heat treated again after you'd welded them and i don't think the forks would survive the forces that are put through them in trials after such a modification. Unless you have the equipment to cut the mounts off, re-weld them and heat treat the forks to the correct temperature afterwards along with the general knowledge on how to heat treat them efficiently, i wouldn't bother even thinking about it. Tom_
what i mean is re-welded magura mounts, if i can get hold of a disc hub i may try this.I really would not bother atall.Mod forks are fine I think most of the onza forks are the exact same geo but simply have the mounts welded on 3inches lower in the factory.Seriously though dont go to the hassle of getting stock forks and re welding the mounts on. In no way is it worth it.
