Hi all, just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on an injury?

Well on Monday I was riding the curbs outside my flats, nothing strange happened, when I came in I went to pick something up with my right hand (it wasn’t very heavey) and I droped it because something twinged in my wrist, after this happened I had pain in my wrist, untill I went to sleep (about 7 hours).

Since this isntance I went into the gym at school. I thought I could do weights with my left arm, picked a wight up started doing Bicep Curls, (weight wasn’t very heavy it was a warm up) after one curl the same thing happened in that wrist but not as bad just managed to hold onto the weight. So if I try and pick up anything now with a little bit of weight I just can’t do it. My wrist will start to become painfull, and then it will twinge an ill drop what im holding this happens in both wrists.

Just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else, if so can you give me some advice on what to do? What I have done? Maybe how long I will be out of ridding for?

I have been told that it may be a trapped nurve (or about a million other things which I can’t remember) by a biolgy teacher at school. But he didn’t tell me what to do.

hey matey, my mrs is a student nurse, she said it sounds like a sprain or a pulled tendon.

nothing major just get a decent support bandage on it and rest it for a week.

if your still experiencing pain try some ibuprofen gel and if after the week it's still

playing up go see your doc.

hope this helps and good luck for a speedy recovery.

I have had the same happen to me, it turned out to be a trapped nurve.

the doctor said to me to keep it strapped up and just rest it.

so when it came to my mate's going out riding i went......but with a video cam and shot a video (Y)

so best bet mate is rest up and like others have sed if its still bad then see the doctor bout it

As suggested , some rest will probably help , but I do wonder what actually caused the injury in the first place . Do you run your bars at an unusual angle , or perhaps brake levers very steep downwards , or almost horizontal ?

I don't run my bars at an unusual angle, there onza bars. My brake levers might be slightly too steep, ill have a look when I get home.

Thank you, for the quick replies. Looks like no riding this weekend :( .

If you dont warm up before you ride you should, ive recentley started riding again and when i went out for a ride i forgot to warm up (simple stretches) and my shoulders were killing for 2 days needless to say i wont be forgetting again.
