Tom_
Just got my zoot and Im really liking it. Now the main reason I got it is because I missed my DMR and on my mod I really enjoyed doing like static 180-360s off stuff. Thing is the technique is a fair bit different on a 24 as its a different kind of movement, before it was a case of sort of lifting the front and spining off it sideways. Now Im wanting to do it while moving both combined in a crank hop and I want to do it bmx style. On DMR and things I used to sort of "english" bunny hop and spin thing is what with the higher bb this doesnt work so well as the bike doesnt stay level in the air the front drops a little. I noticed that phil feeney and other street riders tend do sort of give the pedals a little kick to get the front up and spin.Really I want to know if anyone has any tips as currently Im getting just past 90 and I could do 180 normally on my DMR and could get the momentum to 270+on my czar. The other thing is I cant 180 crank hop either. for shite I get just about 90 and even then the front drops savagly. Again any tips boyos?thankss xx Theres not a spell checker on this browser. Revolver
on trials bikes, not from a standstill, if i pull round really hard, and follow through with my head, i can 180. Its like an english bunny hop

So i would also like help on this move so please do tell people!
Endohopper
A healthy dose of preloading can help you achieve the rotation faster , try leaning away from the intended direction . Similarly , loading the pedal against the rear brake , then releasing the brake and suddenly delivering the power through the drivetrain may help . Perhaps a steeper stem / high riser bar ? Pashley26
I thaught you ment "Spining" as in the bike traning.....As with all things, just practice ! I know it's a commonly used phrase but Practice does make perfect ! Thats my advice !Jarrod Edited January 16, 2008 by Pashley26

psycholist
I got 3" rise bars! and a pretty short stem like 60mm, with a few stackers.Sounds like the handlebars are quite high then - that may be why the front is dropping. If you're using the same movement (Which is likely) you use for your other bikes, the front wheel is likely to end up lower when you level the bike in the air.For a 180 hop it's all about pretwisting over the bike. One thing I can't do is 180 to land with the wheels exactly swapped - I'm always 1/2 a wheel out as I spin more around the back wheel than the front - any fix for this? For the rolling version of a 180, turn the handlebars in the direction you want to spin just before taking off to use a bit of your forward momentum to create the spin. Rusevelt
Well if your losing momentum past 90 degrees on a static spin, a couple of tips. you generate more body twisting forces if you spin in the direction of your leading foot position ie; left foot forward for anticlockwise static spin, and right foot forward for clockwise static spin. pull the bars close to your chest during rotation. when you start to lose momentum during spin, release the back brake and roll out the remaining momentum. go to trashzen and study video clips of julien showing you how or Ryan leech Mastering art of trials clips on youtube. good luck with that.
