Ryan Blackwell
Right im now soooo f**ked off with this crappy eno i cant belive it.Went on a ride easly skipped 30 times and im not joking lock ring came loose every 5 minutes kept tightening it the the lock ring just fell off and wont go back on and all the insides are now all munched up.So the most expensive freewheel on the market dose this? oooo no wait this sort of thing only happens to me this is called my luck you see.Is there anything i can do like send it back to the company because im not having this and i cant afford to replace all the insides.Thanks.Sorry for swearing im just so annoyed Edited January 15, 2008 by Ryan@eastcoast
rudirudirudirudirudi
yep front freewheels suck. my tensile decided to just undo and lost bits. now is being a pain in the bum to put back together. ......... think its time i got a profile.................... if the eno was brand new contact either where you bought it from or the manufacturer because it should have some kinda warrenty on it. Simpson
Try threadlocking the lockring on, it will only skip when its coming loose

Mark W
I doubt there's much they'll do about it, just 'cos if it's f**king up that much it's usually a good idea to just stop riding and go and see what's wrong with it, avoiding completely f**king it up like you have done.Mine lasted me a pretty long time, the tips of the pawls gradually rounded off, but that was no biggie... Ryan Blackwell
Lucky for some people isnt it.Especialy as ive now orderd a new lockring, spring and pawl and basically have no use for it.To top off my lovely day i dont have a crank tool. none of my mates have one my bike shop closes before i get home from school and i cant hit my crank with a mallet as there tenslies. Mark W
Never stopped me Just get a block of wood or something between it and hit it as near to the spindle as possible so you're driving it off the spindle, not twisting the crank arm over or anything. Will Arnold
was the freewheel new? if not then it'll probarbly be down to lack of good maintenance! those eno lockrings shouldnt really come loose as its a sealed bearing

steve@banbury-trials
my eno hasnt been 100% since i got it about a month ago,it skips fairly ofteni think the problem is that two of the 6 spring feel stronger than the other four.im gonna get a new set of springs soon and hopefully it won't skip as much.maybe ring up white industrys and see what they say.steve

Muel
Two of my mates have had ENOs, I thought they were f**king awful for the money. They skipped more tha my Tensile, cost more than my Tensile, and were quieter than my Tensile. One of them is now on a Tensile, the other has quit. Tensile owns Eno. JT!
Dont ENO's have 10 year warrenty on them?No they don't.I'd get in touch with the main importer of ENO. Can't remember wha they're called exactly, someone will post up though i'm sure. And tell them what's happend. But if you've been through two of them it makes me think your doing something silly with them, even though you just screw them on and ride. I've never heard of someone ever having any real bother with an ENO. I've had two, and they've both been amazing.

Muel
If they're quiet, they need to be serviced.I didn't say quiet. I said quieter than my Tensile.I'm clutching at straws there though, I just thought that an £80 freewheel that skipped when a £35 one didn't was a bit shit. Mark W
If they were relatively new, like I said to that other guy in here you'll generally need to give them a clean. That'll happen a couple of times in the first few months 'cos they initially let out a load of grease, then let out a little more bit by bit.Your Tensile is open bearing, with no seals. The Eno is sealed bearing, has a thicker shell, and a rubber dirt seal. It's not too surprising the open one is louder
Muel
OK, well Tensile's are still cheaper.Anyway, dunno why the f**k I'm arguing for Tensile, my new bike came with a Monty! Everyone slates them, well Craig said it never skipped, and it sounds a lot smoother than my Tensile.I'll report back in a few months.
