I'm hungry
Right, basically I'm riding a Zoo Pitbull at the moment, and to be honest im finding it rather restricting and weird...I was thinking about buying another 26", but recently alot of people have advised me to go 20".I know 20" bikes are alot easier to manoeuvre and all that, and even though I learned on a mod, I've always prefered 26" bikes. The Pitbull feels rather akward on the back wheel aswell, don't know if that's just me...What would you guys suggest ?I could possibly begin to consider a 20" bike but if possible I'd prefer to ride stock for the time being.I know there are loads and loads of possibilities frame wise, but I would like to hear some general frame reviews from a handful of riders please......Thanks and hope to have quite a few good replies to this Gav
Lawnmowerman
Try different bar/stem setups. You need validating.
I'm hungry
I'm currently running a TryAll stem and Zoo Riser bars.I think it's not a bad combination considering, but everyone that has ridden my bike said it feels weird
Lawnmowerman
If you think the bike feels cramped try a longer stem, roll your bars forward a bit and change the angle of your levers. Changing the rise of the stem and adding more stackers can help too.
J Trials 31
I don't like Zoo bars or Try-all stems at all so I would have a bit of a change. I love my V!Z setup! If not for V!Z, go for a Monty setup.
Dave Anscombe
ummmmm ok read that......bar and stem would be the cheaper way of alreting the ride set up......but do take a look at the czar stock long version i would have thought the geo would suite you much better than that of your zoo bar and set up wise....ummmmmmm not a clue sorry if im honnest .but do have a look at the deng stock framesor maybe even a onza limey
I'm hungry
I love the Zoo bars, lovely rise and such a comfortable ride for me.Just feel really natural, but as said, I would say its the frame change that would make a big difference and probably sort me out.No doubt altering and playing around with the stem and bars would perhaps change the way the bike feels a little, but to be honest I'd love a new frame and it's about time I treat myself to one.About the Czar long, it definitely looks the part and the spec sounds good, I've also had a look at GU frames...Alot of mates say the T-Rex has a lovely feel but never ridden one and wouldn't buy unless I tested it first to be honest. I'm a bit skeptical about the T-Rex but at the end of the day it's a cheap frame, does anyone know about the strength ?I'll have a look at both Deng and Onza frames.Has anybody ridden a Woodstock?Gav
Dave Anscombe
The t rex is stupidly strong but with that comes alot of weight:(best off going deng......gu/czar.....either are a good option
Alex Dark
the woodstock is ok.. abit short though...but very light, its great streety frame i think
I'm hungry
Alex, I noticed your signature...Did you go from a Woodstock to a Pitbull ?Are you happy with the change ?What stem and what bars are you running on your Pitbull if you don't mind me asking ?Gav
spartan
Yeah, like mrkoxx said the czar is a really really nice frame. I ride it and it feels super comfy on the rear tire and seems to sidehop like a dream. My friend has the 2008 gu typhoon (i think its called the tp now) and it feels really nice and looks good too. I have found that the quality control is a little sub par, there have been a few with bad welds.Whichever one you choose you have made a good choice. What kind of riding do you do, i think that the +35 of the czars bb is a little more multi purpose than the +60 of the gu.Thats my two centscheers
Dave Anscombe
spartan the tp........means typhoon....its shortend lol yeah i would say the long czar is the way to go....dave x
I'm hungry
Mainly ride street, with the odd occasional exception. At the moment Czar is top of the list and probably the frame I will end up buying, but to be honest it's a tough choice between the GU and the Czar.....Actually looking at both frames the GU seems alot stronger and far better looking in my oppinion, and the weight for both '08 GU and Czar is pretty much the same with the GU being a tiny bit heavier.I'm like back to square one Might go for the GU just because I like the look of it a bit more, and seems far better looking that the Czar !Gav
Dave Anscombe
yeah dont knock the gu.......high bb frames are sooooooo fun.....i agree the gu does look verry tidy.......check out damon watsons new rig its the sex well either way u go im shure you will get on with either verry welldave
spartan
spartan the tp........means typhoon....its shortend lolThanks bro, i realized that right after i hit reply. ( duh??)But i think youll be happy either way. In my opinion the Czar has a perfect geo, i like the long wheelbase and the bb isnt so high you feel unstable on 2 wheels which is how it felt on my friends typhoon. That said the typhoon loves everything to do with the rear wheel, and it hooks like a machine. If you ride only urban (like dropgaps and stuff) then the typhoon is probably a better choice if you like the look better.Vanity be thy name mr trials rider,Ian
I'm hungry
Right old chaps, slept on it (not alot of sleep mind you, 4am untill 9am) and all things considered I'll be going with the GU Very happy I finally decided on a frame and I will keep you updated Thanks alot for the advice,Gav
