Pluc
Hi,I'm thinking to get one.If has, which the advantages of the brake Echo? Thanks.
Grant Hundley
To be honest, the Echo brakes don't seem to be good at all, a lot of people have problems with them leaking after its bled with water. In my opinion, their not worth the extra over a Magura. You won't notice any more power with an Echo brake, the only real difference between them and the Magura's is the strength...Just go for a Magura If you can, get an '04 lever, these seem to be a lot stronger than the '05 lever bodies.... Skoze
If you think about the prices, last time i checked, a fully pimp magura (cnc lever blade, brake mounts, pads etc..) they work out at the roughly the same price, and the echo was designed for trials, not just adapted. And why dopeople bleed them (the echo brakes) with water? They have all metal insides etc unlike the plastic you find in maguras, You wouldn't dare bleed a hydraulic disc with water so why treat a good quality rim brake any differently? Grant Hundley
If you think about the prices, last time i checked, a fully pimp magura (cnc lever blade, brake mounts, pads etc..) they work out at the roughly the same price, and the echo was designed for trials, not just adapted. There isn't really a need for cnc lever blades though, standard ones are fine. Pads are an extra £15 or so that would mean the cost of a decent brake would be £80ish, the Echo brakes are about £130 and don't seem as reliable.Magura's have been used for years in trials, yeah you do get problems with them but, since the Echo brakes were released, theres been hundreds of topics about their Echo brake screwing up.And why dopeople bleed them (the echo brakes) with water? They have all metal insides etc unlike the plastic you find in maguras, You wouldn't dare bleed a hydraulic disc with water so why treat a good quality rim brake any differently?Magura's are metal inside too...I'm pretty sure the seals are the same on Echo brakes aswell? Dave Anscombe
ok if you want the perfect echo brake that does not leak...read in if you insist on bleeding it with water with out any leaks......Take the insides out of the recent magura rim brake and chuck it in the echo brake...... leaky free The noticeable changes in a dengura is the cylinders alot smaller so you wont catch you feet on them good idea...but then u dont have much brake adjustment when your pads wear down witch is Gay id go for a magura

Charlie Jennings
Dengua's Look nicer in my opinion.I personally dont like the fact that having CNC backed pad's voids the warranty. But. I think if you have a CNC leaver on a Magura (or other accessory) is also voiding the warranty. Am I correct? But the funny thing is. All the people on this forum that moan about the warranty being void, I bet they haven't even registered there warranty with magura. So either way. I've never seen a problem with Dengura's. bt rider
Hi,I'm thinking to get one.If has, which the advantages of the brake Echo? Thanks.Hello I would recommend a magura hs33 2005 over and over again as they are so comfy and powerful. I would trust my life on a magura hs33 with a braded house every time. The Echo brakes tend to leak quite allot and the T.P.A august meant seems to cross thread allot of the time. There is also no match for a well bled magura with a good set of pads and a good light grind on the rim. Well that’s my opinion any way.I hope this helps Jordan. Muel
If you want the ultimate rim brake, it would be.Maggie/RB lever.Deng slaves.Hope/Goodridge hose.Heatsin CNC Pads.Deng Clamps.Pimp TPA.Or alternatively, a Hope Mono Trial. Fit, bed, and forget.
JonMack
RB lever.Deng slaves.I'll have both those things for sale in the not too distant future. RB lever with 12 spare seals, a spare piston and a spare TPA, and the original TPA is an Ed Potts modded one. If any FULL MEMBERS are interested shoot me a PM.Also if you get braided hosing, you need 3 M6 fittings and 1 M8 fitting, as the Echo cylinders are identical, and both have M6 threads on.I was going to put pretty much that setup on my bike but because my main braided hosing section was M8 on both ends, I couldn't do it. Then I got annoyed and sheared my crossover and it got stuck in one of my old cylinders. Classic. Edited January 16, 2008 by JonMack
