Brad.
I hop everything with my right foot, haps, gaps, sidehops etc I spin to my right and i sidehop to my right.I prefer to ride more a smooth flowing style if i can but also like doing stuff that involves being really accurate and precise.Brad. Dan - www.sotrials.com
I am right footed right handed..but when it comes to trials i automatically balance with my left foot forward.I sidehop to the left with my left foot forward.i spn to the left with my left foot forward.at the end of the day the way you are best at is that way you see others do it and learn that way. Jay-Inspired
thanks for the replies guys so it seems we all have our own distinctive styles and it is all down to personal prefernce on how we ride. something has also been anoying and it probably seems realy stupid but depending on your style does it limit your progression in trials e.g. some places i ride certain gaps can only be done when kicking off at a slight angle to the left so its not realy possible for someone who can only kick to at an angle to the right as they would miss the target landing area so in theory only a certen style of of riders would be able to achieve the gap unless you adapted your style surely this has an affect on your progression rate. As some people would be able to say iv done that gap and you havent, some of you will reply "just go and do a gap that is the same size but were you can kick either way" i dont want that answer i want you to look at it under the these circumstances. i just want some answers on this to tie up a few loose ends in my technical trials mind thanks guys

CowmanSmith
i use my right foot when it comes to gaps, sidehops, statics, front wheel gaps and i use my left foot for blunting , although i do most fings with my right foot foward i find i easier to manoover with my left foot foward i don't know why thoughwhen riding the foot you feel most comfortable with foward , try to then start learning with that comfortable foot foward Callum
