cai
I was just looking through the 'Brake Spares' on TartyBikes and came apon this:-Monty Brake SprayNow I have two mods, one with a light grind (on the rear) and one with a smooth rim (on the rear). Not that my brakes are slipping, but would this do any of my bikes any favours with the braking? Please comment, cai
Alex Dark
I think it's made from pine resin...its extremely sticky and can overcome the springs on vees making the pads stick to the rims...plus it leaves white gunk all over your rims.... I used to just use coke and pour it on the rims...the cheaper the better...comes off easier and isnt as savagely bitey
eskimo
You should try the search for that one. Seriously there have been alot of topics on it. Which i think i've replied to most of them. In short it works well.

I used it for one can and didn't bother again, as grinding was discovered!
D a n n y. . .
Iv had some hanging around for AGES!! But never used it, as people always sed not to!But, i couldnt find any tar, so i sprayed a little bit onto my front rim, and wiped it around with a tissue! And it worked miles better than tar!!!I wouldnt recommend it on ground rims, but smooth. its ***!!But remember, less is more
eskimo
Here,Here,Here,Here,Here,And here.Must admit there weren't as many as i previously thought. Some are fairly old now but Monty Spray has been the same for years so it's all good.
JsyJoel93
Should be called Monty DEATH Spray, it put me in hospital ...was going for a 6 to 1 pallet gap on my mate's bike...i kicked, brake stuck, i went over the bars but landed on the stem with my spleen. Internal bleeding and a hate for that can followed.Saying that, i'm pretty sure he was inexperienced and just whacked a load on, mayb spraying onto tissue and wiping it on in a few applications would be better...and less fatal lolJoel Should be called Monty DEATH Spray, it put me in hospital ...was going for a 6 to 1 pallet gap on my mate's bike...i kicked, brake stuck, i went over the bars but landed on the stem with my spleen taking the direct hit. The Duck
You should only use the tiniest amounts. Spin wheel (fast) on 0.5 second squirt (or less) on each side.1 can will last you aaaages, or until it starts getting all clogged up and stuck to itself. eskimo
I never had a problem with it. Tar is just as dangerous if not more dangerous because it also sticks yet the thing being is that it doesn't work with water.
Jason222
Use tar(in moderation) or just grind + rock pads. lol

011001000110010101110010
Its used to stop belts slipping in factory machines. If you can find a supplier of that stuff, not branded as montry brake spray, it will be loads cheaper. But just get some decent pads and a grind.
