Please don't be so quick to insult people's spelling if you can't spell or punctuate yourself, and especially don't insult other people's English if they aren't English themselves.

I didn't have any trouble at all with the lockring coming loose when I had one. It didn't come loose when it was new, neither after I did some service to it.

But I suggest that you just have a look at it tonight, simple as that. It's really easy to just make sure it's tight and after that there's no need to worry about it tomorrow!

Enjoy your ride!

I have worked on an ENO, great freewheels. They never slip but the one I worked on did come loose after about 5 rides and that was only beacuse it was quite old. I would personally choose a Monty freewheel beacuse the lock ring is on the other side but the ENOs do come with a lifetime warranty.

You can take them apart and possibly lock-tight the lockring, that hopefully will make it hold. To tighten it just turn it with your fingers so it is tightish now and again.

It should be fine.

cheers

it shouldnt come undone as when you pedal it tightens up.

to save on a new topic on enos i'll ask a question here, should all the leaf spring inside the eno be the same springyness? i only ask as when i serviced my eno it felt like 2 of the six springs where pusing against their pawls harder than the other four.

cheers,steve

I'm almost 100% certain they should be the same springyness, I only guess though because you can only buy one type of replacement leaf spring for the Eno (there isn't a springier leaf spring an a less springier leaf spring in spare parts for them so they must all be the same).

Aslong as the freewheel works and all the pawls engage, I can't see it causing any problems at all.

Bollocks, absolute bollocks.

If Im cycling a distance on my monty (like miles) my lockring will occasionally come loose.

Got to a riding spot once, heard a rattling, rode for ten minutes, and realised my lockring was actually completly off swinging on the BB axel. The drive shell didn't move at all, I seriously doubt that would have happened on any other freewheel.

Try all freewheels are about the only ones that the lockring wont come loose on because it's against the crank rather than towards the BB shell.

Tensiles were supposed to have an opposite thread to prevent them loosening but I don't know for sure as some have failed.

edit: having said that i'd not change my eno for anything seriously reliable, the lockring has only ever come loose once. if I was in the middle of something and heard that rattling noise again I'd not shit myself, i'd finish the move and jump off knowing that the eno is well put together.

Well I'm at sixth form so i guess i'll count that as school

I guess you calling me a kid make you feel big?

It seems that you are the one who needs to grow up.

And with twatish replys like yours, you have no chance of validation.

Gl with that.

I dont have a problem with anyone on this forum and im not trying to make enemies like i said before if someone posts something that i cant understand im going to comment on it just like anyone else would.

And on the point of validation i couldnt actually care less if im validated or not and i think NM would be a lot better if people said what they actually thought instead of just trying to be nice all the time for fear of not being validated

Anyway i have nothing else to say apart from calling you a kid didnt make me feel big because i am big, im 6,2" and 13 and a half stone so i dont need to call people kids to feel big i just am anyway rant over now......!

I can't stand people posting shit that is simply not true.

But freewheels do tighten as you pedal. That's what he was talking about - so he wasn't posting shit that wasn't true as such.

I've had two enos, the lockring just doesn't come undone. Dunno why, might have something to do with it having sealed bearings.

So, don't worry about it. Just ride. :)
