Well basically because the lock ring is on the other side it doesn't usually come loose as its against the crank arm, but if in your case it has then to tighten simply find a small screwdriver or rod which can fit into the two grooves and tap the ring CLOCKWISE. Alternatively you could do what I do and use a set of pliers which can fit into the groove itself. I think my dad called them fishing pliers but I dont have a clue. N Roach Posted January 7, 2008 Report Share Posted January 7, 2008 (edited) Picture 2: Find the two little indents, get a screw driver to grip inside one of the indents.
