JoNnY__Mc
I think this is great mate, sounds like a really nice way to get in touch with the routes of trials! Will be great for you to try and ride trials how we now on a bike with less upto date geometry!
Guest
think overall the bike will ride realy nicely but dont expect it to take to much abuse .??Don't they have BB drop? therefore should rude shit compared to today's bikes. I'd also say they'd take a good beating,(more than a koxx anyway) not sure why, but I've allways had that impression of them from way back when they were reviewed in mbuk... robster
It will ride fine. We used to ride trials on old racers with 27" wheels, tracking cogs and cow horns!!!!!!! The handsom dog is a good strong stead and it will go up or down owt with the right man on it.JP

Fair enough if it's a hand-me-down though, ride it and enjoy. But those frames are OLD, and they weren't even trials-specific frames in the first place - pretty much nothing was at that time. Just because something even more unsuitable exists doesn't mean that this is a great trials bike.

And I have to say I love the +0 bb rise, your proberly right about the BB drop though not too sure how that would feel.Edit: just looked at the pic again, and realised it must have like -40 bb drop. Tomm
BB rise isn't necessarily a good thing, but I can't think of any trials frame from the last 3-4 years that actually has BB drop. It's just one of those things that we now know is a bad idea, like short wheelbases and long chainstays. It makes the bike better for other things though - like cornering at speed
Revolver
hey i have a rockhound! mine's 07mine doesn't have the forks though, and also, its the small version with the straight top tube-chainstayslet us know how it turns out the bb sink does suck =/ Edited January 6, 2008 by Disasterboy
Guest
I ride a 0bb Stock too, it's fine, but BB drop just make's anything back wheel a joke pretty much. Yes, that's how trials started, but it was far from perfect, and ot the trials we know.
JonMack
If your dad is pissed off at you for having too many bikes, i'd ditch this project and carry on riding your 5.0 to be honest.
