Boswell
Well basically the image below is of some land at the bottom of my road. The land may look like a lush bit of woodland but it is not, it is overgrown wasteland thats consists of stinging nettles, bushes, and trees and sadly a lot of rubbish. The land is also at the bottom of a hill and dips down into the ground a fair bit meaning it is very boggy, the combination of this boggy soil and rotting rubbish really smells. Now to the point of the topic, today i was thinking why waste land like this why not build a skatepark? Now this is where i need your help, whats the first step in trying to get one built? Edited January 4, 2008 by Boswell

Lawnmowerman
Doubt it. Being that close to houses the noise would be unbearable and it would get closed pretty quick.
Dan6061
Would cost a hella lot o' money to get the ground right for a skatepark. Then there's the local residents, and then they'll look at how many people would actually use it. Oh, and it's bound to be owned by someone, and if so, they'll probably say no to it turning into a skatepark. If it's the council's land, then if theye were to change it, they'd make some shitty nature reserve or something cheap and effortless to create. James Quigley
1 - too close to houses.2 - too close to road (at a guess)3 - council will see those trees to be of a "public amenity value" even if they smell.so to cut a long story short I would find another site

Tom_
Looks too small to me, also far to close to houses and we had serious issues with the type of land and money had to be spent to sort it out. canny see it happening my friend

James Quigley
here's a site near my houseI can nay be bothered to pester the council about it but is an example of what I think a good site for you would be.It's in a field used for Sunday football (under 15's I think) and is just an overgrown space. Below all of the crap is a solid concrete/tarmac base and what looks like about 4 or 5 tennis courts painted on. Would just need a bit of clearing, maybe some fencing and a lot of obstacles Edited January 5, 2008 by James Quigley
