GlynnP
Hey just saw this advertisement at the bottom of MSN and wondering if anyone has used them or think anything about the offer.the website is www.one.com and they have an offer where the web hosting is free and domain.all you pay is about £10 for set up fee. just sounds to good to be true what do people think.also says this in the FAQ:How is it possible that you can offer unlimited traffic? Our unique set-up gives us the possibility to offer our customers unlimited traffic on their web space. Many of our competitors would say that this is impossible. Nonetheless have we since 2002 delivered this service to our customers. Today we have customers who have more than 25 million hits and more than 1000 Gb traffic per month. However we do not offer the possibility for our customer to have their download-site hosted with us. A download-site is a site, where each single hit generates more than 1 MB of traffic.Does this mean unlimited bandwidth i dont quit understand this part as no where does it mention bandwidth.thanks

Have a look on webhostingtalk.com, theres lots of similar ones. Basically you'll be stuck on a server with 500 other sites, your year will run out and then to renew it'll cost you over the odds.Unlimited bandwidth thing is a joke.. theres a reason busy sites that do use a lot of bandwidth pay lots out for dedicated servers.Fine for the average run of the mill personal blog kinda site though.EDIT: yes it does mean unlimited bandwidth. But you'd have to have a very odd website to use a decent amount of bandwidth nowadays without serving any > 1mb files.
Danny
Unlimited Bandwidth is never unlimited. They are all subject to a fair use policy.I've got a feeling they will try rob you blind when it comes to renewal. I always buy my domains from somewhere else so the hosting company can't essential 'steal' it off you.Edit: Grrrr tom beat me too it.
