Ladd
Grind you will get good performance in wet and dry and the brakes wil work and hold alot better also a dab of tar can help becasue it is sticky but not to much other wise you pads will stick to the rim when you pull it
Ben John-Hynes
get a grind and get some decent pads to go with it,and it'll work well in wet and dry,and should make a nice noise Benx
strelly
Grinding your rim is the best way, but tar is ideal for beginners.I have a lump of tar you can have for free, you'll just need to send me a self addressed envelope.Email me if you want tar, (my email is on my profile)Charlie
N.Wood
Best upgrade is some new pads.Have a look on tartybikes.co.uk for all you cou;d ever want.Search for pad reviews and you'll find the one that fits your budget. Then you can go about tarring/grinding. Muel
Grind are cool, but boosters and good pads are important as well.I used tar, it was ok, but really temperamental, too much and it stuck on, too little and it didn't work etc.You best bet is just to grind in my opinion. But it needs posh pads as well to work well.I got bored of faffing about and just got a rear disc.
