Rusevelt
For those of you that want them in white then contact Mingfan (Zhi). he is the forum member whom posted/promoted them here in the first place.
eskimo
The rims were only sprayed white, so a black can of spray paint would be fine.As for tension, them nipples are coming through no matter what. Personnally i'd go with some real tension just to keep the wheel from collapsing. They will probably re-design them next year once they find out they all pull through..? It is all down to the riding though..

Dave Anscombe
the dob rim's wont grind to well with the every day normal grinding disc........how ever ive had a talk with my pops about them....he is a smart arse and knows shed loads lol.when he was working with verry fine metals....he used a verry thin and flexable grinding disc .its almost like cardboard with a high grade sand paper affect...he is 100% shure that this will give you a nice deep sharp grind ....with out taking as much material off the rim if u were to use a cutting/grinding disc.had a old rim bashing around so i ground one side of the rim using a cutting/grinding disc....thought yeah good grind...then on the other side i used this flext sand paper disc thing......now no word of a lie...the more you flext this disc in to the rim the deeper and sharper the grind comes out..after brushing all the shards of the rim.....i felt the grind and it actually cut my finger open so try and get your self one of thees disc max and try that and let me know how it goes just thought id share my info with you all who may want to run thees dob rims dave x

Bionic Balls
i'm pretty violent when grinding...i don't think a flexible disc would really suit me! and..i don't want it so sharp that my finger/pad just disappears my megamo rim still has the best grind i'v ever had (tried viz & try-all)...apart from the d521..that was adam
Dave Anscombe
well u dont have to push it to hard......im just saying when i applied a bit more preashure the grind came out verry sharp....
Matt Burrows
Fatmikes was absolutely appalling . Fell apart in literally an hour of riding in bristol and his spokes really weren't that tight!
David Biddleâ„¢
I hve had mine for the last 4 months or so and1. Was a pain to grind the rim but since the first grind i havnt had to re-grind the rim2. Fairly strong only had to true the rear wheel up once and since then its been fine after So far i havnt had the spokes pull through yet but when they do ill post up pictures and then move on to the 08 models to see what there like And the other problem i found with these rims was once your on the back wheel you can feel alot of play just from hoping to keep the front wheel up Cheers biddle Edited January 21, 2008 by Biddle
Jason222
I just grinded my rim with the coarse sandpaper piece for the grinder. Turned out VERY well. Brake is so loud and bitey! Shall take pics soon!
Shaun H
I unfortunately didn't catch my rear wheel build losing tension after I built it (randomly went half way through a ride after I'd been out like 4 times ) so it's had a bad start to life. The sidewalls dent a little easily and mine's needed alot more trueing than my V!Z or Echo ever did (both of which I built too). Overall I am pleased with it but I think I'm gunna try a rear V!Z rim again for the next one. After that I'll decide on which I prefer (unless there's something new out ).I could just learn to be smoother but meeehhhhh. The front is 100% fine, would strongly recomend it as it's a double wall rim at the weight of a single wall! Jason222
Grinded with a sanding disc. Turned out decent.
max-t
I could just learn to be smoother but meeehhhhh.Yes Shaun, thats probably why its denting . Although i have one in mine
Dave Anscombe
Grinded with a sanding disc. Turned out decent.sanding discs.....as in the thin flexy ones with rough sandpaper affect on one side.....thats what i used....it will turn out alot sharper if you add a little more preashure to the grinder...... The Duck
Quite pissed off, forgot to mention, that a certain someone told me when ordering the rim that; Spokes cut to fit an echo rim should be fiiine. But they're about 10mm too long = shit tension.Try-All - here i come. craigjames
so do the dent easily? and does anyone know if they have a solution to the spokes pulling through i.e.eyelets....... i know it'll add 50grams but the rims are light enough to compensate surely! Shaun H
Put some goddam air in your tyre Shaun I swear I have more air in my tyres than most Except you with your bloody roady pressures so do the dent easily? and does anyone know if they have a solution to the spokes pulling through i.e.eyelets....... i know it'll add 50grams but the rims are light enough to compensate surely! They dent easier than any ally rims I've used but that's to be expected. Unfortunately I'm SUCH a basher it's actually dented the whole rim a bit so it's kinda flat spotted on one side Still going though, when I get my camcorder I think it's going to die... Jason222
I think they're pretty reasonable. Just remember, when truing...to loosen the side that it's warped to, so when you tension the opposite side, it's not over stressing the rim.I can't get over how light they are.But they're about 10mm too long = shit tension.Try-All - here i come.Or you could just get shorter spokes

They only dent if you absolutely case a big drop gap. I only have one in mine. They're good rims, they dont buckle easy and are sooo light. Mine havent pulled through yet and i dont think they will. i have no idea how Mike managed to get his to come through . I swear I have more air in my tyres than most Except you with your bloody roady pressures Must be too much of a fatboy then Edited January 25, 2008 by max-t
