max-t
I am extremely bored and meet the fockers isn't on for another 15 minutes so i'll post this then piss off So for anyone who is interested in them... I have been using the DOB magnesium alloy rims for about 2 weeks now and they have been a fair bit better than i thought they would be. IMO they are the perfect width ( wider than a dx32 but narrower than an Echo/Koxx rim) 42 mm i think? They are amazingly light too. The front weighing in at 473g and the back 562g for the 26" stock versions. Due to the lightweight you would think that this decreases the strength substantially but i have done a fair few drop gaps , gaps to front wheel and they are holding up surprisingly well, much to my delight The only drawback i have found with them so far is that they dont seem to be grinding up too nicley. I dont know wether its because my grinding disc is not sharp enough or anything but it just doesnt seems to come up very sharp. However, i am a perfectionist when it comes to how my grind it and how my brake works so maybe its just me being fussy. Soft pads like plazmatics in the summer months will work on them just fine i'm sure.ProsSuper lightweightComes in sexy white colourNice widthDeep braking surface for easy brake set upSeem to be pretty strongPimp factorConsGrind shitWhen you grind them shit loads of meterial comes offAvailable at Trials-ukThanks.Max... Jason222
Great review! I have a set coming to me in a few days. Can't wait to get them, and get them all laced up But I intend to grind them...so I'll have to find a way to make the grind sharp. What pads would you recommend? I'm running Rock pads right now, would they do?

streetjibs
thanks for the review... i must admit, i think like most people on here iv been holding off on buying these, due to being abit suspicious of their strength. sounds like a good well built rim.I know the front rim is double walled too.. unlike the font tryall im told. which is reassuring.oh yeah.. thats the frikkin nicest adamant iv ever seen. nice job!!!am i right in assuming that the rims due to not grinding up too well would work very well with coust pads??? As these seem to work very well on my almost smooth ground tryalls...any info wud b tops cheers!

Jason222
People need to stop saying how they "think" a rim will hold up. Base your opinion on actually testing them! Giver a shot man!
