Shaun H
Been down to Currys and spent a LONG time looking at all the models they had in. I'm sorted on my bag/tripod package but I simply can not decide between the two I've put in the title.SonyJVCThey both come with a "station" for charging and uploading video to my computer. However the JVC is widescreen, has 10gb more (not that I'll ever fill 30gb in the first place), has a remote which would be good for when I'm out filming alone and I can save another £30 by reserving online and collecting due to the web exclusive price. The Sony comes from a more reputable (IMO) company, is cheaper by £10 and looks better. I would probably have just sacked it in and bought it if it was widescreen as I didn't know the JVC could be even cheaper.EDIT: The JVC doesn't have any night vision at all though, so might be bad in low light? Just another point to considerI have no idea on how the image quality of the two fair up against each other as it was too hard to tell on the LCD screens, both their image stabilisation seemed to work superbly even near full zoom so not much to judge there.I'm really stuck so any insight would really be appreciated! Cheers! Edited December 27, 2007 by Shaun H

James Quigley
for me the JVC looks to be a bilt bulkier than the sony. Also not sure if you'd need 40gb memory.Personally I would go with the sony but that's just me. My DCR-HC24 (Sony) has served me well. NathanYeah the touch screen is quite nice and really really nice to use. Not too fussed about the memory as I said, not sure I'd ever fill 30GB.for me the JVC looks to be a bilt bulkier than the sony. Also not sure if you'd need 40gb memory.Personally I would go with the sony but that's just me. My DCR-HC24 (Sony) has served me well. They're both exactly the same size, decided against a £200 Panasonic cos it was bigger than both the others.I'm currently leaning towards the Sony after a little more research. JonMack
I think with my mates 30GB cam you can get between 7 and 47 hours of footage.
